Juventus are on the verge of an inglorious exit from the Champions League, with even home advantage offering little promise of a comeback against the flying Galatasaray.
Advancing would be nothing short of a miracle, considering that in the history of the tournament, only four times has a team overcome a three-goal deficit after the first leg.
And Juventus currently do not look like a team capable of such a miracle. The Bianconeri have not won in their last five games, losing four of them. In each of these games, they conceded at least two goals, totaling 15.
Galatasaray also lost their match over the weekend in Turkey, but before that, they won five in a row, scoring at least three goals in each victory.
They don't even need to win in Italy; they just need to not lose by more than three goals. Considering how solid they were in defence in the League Phase, this seems entirely possible.
How the bookies view it: Are they underestimating the Lions?
Bookmakers expect Juventus to finally end their poor run with a win, but their advantage in the odds certainly seems exaggerated after last week's performance.
Currently, you can back Juventus at 1/2, while Galatasaray are available at 9/2. The draw is close behind at 4/1.
Recent head-to-head: Galatasaray won three of the last four
Juventus and Galatasaray have a rich history, albeit mostly ancient. This is their fourth meeting in the Champions League, and interestingly, the Old Lady has only one win in seven games so far.
What is impressive is that Galatasaray have won three of the last four, including last week's resounding 5-2 victory.
Players to watch: Yildiz must wake up
One of Juventus' main problems, apart from their disorganized defense, is the poor form of their attacking players. There is not a single offensive player in good condition, and it is quite difficult to choose someone to bet on.
From everything we have seen so far this season, only Kenan Yildiz has proven himself to be a player who can make a difference against any opponent. The player has not scored or assisted since January, and there is no better time to change that.
Probable line-ups
Juventus: Gregorio, Kelly, Gatti, Koopmeiners, McKennie, Locatelli, Thuram, Kostic, Yildiz, Miretti, Openda
Galatasaray: Cakir, Sallai, Sanchez, Bardakci, Jakobs, Torreira, Lemina, Yilmaz, Sara, Lang, Icardi
Anything else catch the eye?
No matter how bad Juventus' form is, history points to a victory, even if it is not enough to advance. For Galatasaray, this will be their 14th visit to an Italian team in their history, and so far, they have no wins in Italy.
However, we do not recommend betting on Juventus because a draw is entirely possible. But we certainly expect a goal-filled clash with both teams scoring again.
Cards are also a great option, especially after the tense first match, in which we saw a red card.
