Italy vs Austria

, KO: 20:00 Jun 26, 2021, Wembley
Austria

ITALY will be looking to continue their imperious start to Euro 2020 when they come up against Austria in the last-16 at Wembley on Saturday night.

I flagged up the Italians as potential winners of this summer's showpiece and they have been one of the most impressive sides at Euro 2020 so far.

In fact, the Azzurri have been well-nigh flawless to date, winning each of their three group matches in record-breaking fashion without conceding a goal.

That perfect pool display means that Roberto Mancini's men head into knockout stages as second-favourites to lift the trophy and as such, they are heavily fancied to see off Austria.

Roberto Mancini Italy

Before Euro 2020, Austria had never tasted victory whilst dining at Europe's top table, let alone progress to the round of 16.

However, wins over North Macedonian and Ukraine secured second spot in Group C for Franco Foda's side but it would be a massive shock if the Austrians sent Italy packing.

Outright Betting

Italy have avoided defeat in each of their last 30 matches and the Azzurri are red-hot favourites here at 1/2 with William Hill.

Austria are big underdogs at 13/2 with UniBet while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 3/1 with the same firm.

Betting Angles

Italy are unsurprisingly huge favourites here but there is little value in siding with the Azzurri at the aforementioned odds so I'll head to Bet Builder market to get a bigger price.

If we combine Italy to win and under four match goals we can get some even-money (1/1) with Boylesports and that looks like a nice way in.

Italy have undergone a marked improvement since Mancini took charge and they enter this last-16 showdown in the midst of a staggering 30-game unbeaten streak.

The Italians resurgence can be attributed to their extraordinary defensive record, with the Azzurri posting 11 clean sheets across each of their last 11 matches.

It's also worth noting that the above-mentioned combination has clicked in each of Italy's three Euro 2020 encounters thus far and I'm more than happy to support the same formula in London on Saturday night.

That train of thought could also see value lie with the 10/3 on offer with Boylesports for Italy to win by a scoreline of either 2-0 or 3-0.

The ultra-impressive Italians have shutout their opponents in 23 of their last 30 assignments, not to mention they have won seven of their last eight meaningful matches by one of the two aforementioned scorelines.

I'll also dip into the anytime goalscorer market and take the 29/20 on offer with UniBet for Italy striker Ciro Imobile to get on the scoresheet.

I highlighted the Lazio goal-getter as a potential golden boot contender in my ante-post preview and he has notched in each of his two outings thus far.

That means Immobile has now made the net bulge in five of his last six appearances for Italy and he is a tempting play at the aforementioned price to repeat the trick on Saturday night.
