Inter Milan will take on Roma on Sunday, 27 April in a huge match at the top of the Serie A league table.
Inter Milan are now top only by goal difference following their 1-0 defeat to Bologna last week, and after crashing out of the Coppa Italia in the week, a match against Roma is likely the last thing they need.
Roma, who have been sensational under Claudio Ranieri over the past five months, are just three points behind Bologna in the race for the top four, so they have plenty of incentive to win this one, too.
How the bookies view it: Inter start as favourites
Despite having a miserable week, Inter Milan still come into this one as the favourites with home advantage potentially seen as the key. BoyleSports have priced a home win at 7/10 while a victory for Roma has been priced at 10/3. A draw, which would open the door for Napoli to go top of Serie A, has been priced at 13/5.
Head to head: Advantage Inter
Inter's status as favourites for this match is reaffirmed by their recent record against Roma. Simone Inzaghi's side have won their last four matches against the Giallorossi, including a 1-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico in the reverse fixture earlier this season. Roma's last win over Inter Milan came in October 2022, when they ran out as 2-1 winners at the San Siro.
Players to watch: Battle of the forwards
This is a match that could come down to which forwards produce on the day with both teams possessing some of the sharpest shooters in world football.
Inter Milan typically line up with two strikers – Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram – while Roma typically play with just a lone striker – Artem Dovbyk. Between the three of them, they have combined for 37 goals in Serie A this season, and it would be a shock if at least one of them didn't get on the scoresheet this weekend.
The one that stands out as the best among the three is Lautaro Martinez, despite the fact he has been outscored by his strike partner this season. The Argentinian has proven himself to be clutch player for Inter over the years and struck twice in their recent European triumph over Bayern. Given the magnitude of this match, he feels like the most likely match winner.
Predicted line-ups
Inter Milan have had some good news this week as Denzel Dumfries and Piotr Zielinski are both back in training. However, on the negative front, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alessandro Bastoni are ruled out due to suspension. Roma are only missing two players – Paulo Dybala and Victor Nelsson.
Inter Milan: Sommer – Pavard, Acerbi, Augusto – Zalewski, Calhanoglu, Frattesi, Barella, Dimarco – Thuram, Martinez
Roma: Svilar – Celik, Mancini, Ndicka – Saelemaekers, Paredes, Cristante, Kone, Angelino – Soule, Dovbyk
Anything else catch the eye?
This is a match that could quite easily be separated by just one goal. Roma's three most recent victories have all finished 1-0, while Inter's last two triumphs over Roma have been by the same scoreline. Inter Milan to win 1-0 has been priced at 11/2 by BoyleSports, while Roma to win 1-0 has been priced at 11/1.
