Hearts fans had the merriest of Christmases and if their heroes can claim a derby win over Hibernian at Easter Road it will spark one hell of a Hogmanay party.
The Jambos claimed a 2-1 victory over Rangers last weekend, a result that moved them 12 points clear of Gers in the SPFL Premiership and maintained a six-point lead over Celtic.
That made it home-and-away wins over both sides of the Old Firm this season, fuelling belief they can rule the roost in Scotland for the first time since 1960.
But city rivals Hibs will be desperate to burst the bubble and this capital showdown is another big test of title mettle for Derek McInnes' side.
The Easter Road men finished third last season but now sit fifth, a whopping 16 points behind their rivals.
Inconsistency has been the biggest problem for boss David Gray and his side have come up short in the big games, taking just a point from five fixtures with Rangers, Celtic and Hearts.
However, the Hibees still have a stong squad with plenty of talent and if they hit top form then they can put a dent in the Jambos' title hopes.
How the bookies view it: Jambos by a nose
This is a tough one to call with Hibs having home advantage but the bookies make Hearts' slight favourites. The Jambos are a best 8/5 at 888Sport while you can back the home win at 19/10 with BetMGM. I wouldn't be surprised if this one ended level and that pays 12/5 at Coral.
Recent head to head: Derby tide turning?
Hearts won 1-0 at Tynecastle earlier in the season but they needed a stoppage-time goal from Craig Halkett to get over the line. Hibs had held the upper hand before that, going four derbies without defeat.
Players to watch: Shankland a derby destroyer
Skipper Lawrence Shankland is back to his best for Hearts and took his tally to 13 for the season by scoring against Rangers. He has netted six times in the derby and is 19/10 at Ladbrokes to keep up that fine record.
Kieron Bowie has added motivation for Hibs in the second half of the season as he looks to book a place in Scotland's World Cup squad. The powerful forward will be a big threat to the Jambos and looks overpriced at 5/2 with Paddy Power for anytime scorer.

Probable line-ups
Chris Cadden is back for Hibs after missing the last game to be at the birth of his child. Defender Warren O'Hara could return after illness but Rocky Bushiri, Miguel Chaiwa and Jordan Obita are away at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Harry Milne returns from suspension for Hearts while Craig Halkett and Claudio Braga should shake off knocks to feature. Ageu and Finlay Pollock remain sidelined with injuries.
Hibernian: Sallinger, C Cadden, O'Hora, Hanley, Iredale, N Cadden, Mulligan, Barlaser, McGrath, Bowie, Boyle.
Heart of Midlothian: Schwolow, Milne, Findlay, Halkett, Steinwender, Devlin, Baningime, McEntee, Kyzirids, Braga, Shankland.
Anything else catch the eye?
This derby has produced more perspiration than inspiration in recent years and chances were at a premium in the first meeting this season.
This could be another tight battle so under 2.5 goals looks likely, although the odds aren't great at 4/5 with William Hill. There's more value in the half-time draw and that pays 6/5 with Bet365.
This fixture hasn't produced a lot of corners recently, with only one of the last four meetings hitting double figures. So there could be some value in backing under 10.5 flag kicks at 11/10 with Bet365.
Cards are usually the best option in a derby and the ref should be busy again. Tynecastle terrier Cammy Devlin looks good at 2/1 with Ladbrokes for a card while opposite number Josh Mulligan is 23/10 at Betfred in the same market.
