Fiorentina vs Real Betis

, KO: 20:00 , Stadio Artemio Franchi
Real Betis

Fiorentina are aiming to qualify for their third UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) final when they welcome Real Betis to the Stadio Artemio Franchi in the second leg of their semi-final on Thursday night.

The hosts have lost their last two games in all competitions, including the first leg, but both were away from home. Indeed, they are a different animal on home soil, where they are unbeaten in seven matches in all competitions and have won five of them.

Fiorentina are currently out of the European places in eighth in Serie A, and so winning the UECL not only presents them with a chance of winning silverware, but would book them a guaranteed place the UEFA Europa League (UEL) next season.

In contrast, Betis are in the European spots in La Liga at the moment in sixth, but are favourites to reach the final with a one-goal advantage from the first leg. That 2-1 win over Fiorentina was one of four in a row in all competitions, and away from home, they are unbeaten in eight games.

Betis have won the last two H2Hs in total, but both were on home turf. Nonetheless, Fiorentina will still believe that they can turn the tie around in front of their own fans.

How the bookies view it: Fiorentina favourites

BoyleSports have Fiorentina as 6/5 favourites to win in normal time, which would at least force extra time. A Betis victory is priced at 15/8 by the same bookmaker, while a draw is valued at 12/5.

In terms of the bigger picture, Betis are unsurprisingly 2/5 odds-on favourites to reach the final, while Fiorentina are 15/8 outsiders with BoyleSports. Given their record of reaching UECL finals and their strong home form of late, La Viola qualifying could certainly be worth a punt.

Recent head-to-head: Betis hold the cards

As mentioned, Betis hold a 2-1 lead from the first leg, courtesy of goals from Abde Ezzalzouli and Antony. Luca Ranieri grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors.

Players to watch: Antony to continue scoring streak?

Rolando Mandragora has scored in each of Fiorentina's last two home games, and will be keen to have a similar impact against Betis.

Antony has netted in three of Betis' four successive wins, including in the first leg and the 2-1 victory at Espanyol in La Liga last time out. The Brazilian is a tempting 4/1 with BoyleSports to score anytime against Fiorentina.

Predicted lineups

Danilo Cataldi is a doubt after suffering an injury in the first leg, but Dodo could return after recovering from appendicitis.

Betis will be without injured trio Chimy Avila, Marc Roca and Diego Llorente once again, but everyone else should be available.

Fiorentina: De Gea, Pongracic, Comuzzo, Ranieri, Dodo, Fagioli, Adli, Mandragora, Gosens, Gudmundsson, Kean.

Real Betis: Adrian, Ruibal, Bartra, Natan, Rodriguez, Cardoso, Fornals, Antony, Isco, Ezzalzouli, Bakambu.

Anything else catch the eye?

Both teams have scored in the previous three H2Hs, so alongside our unlikelier predictions, backing Both Teams To Score (BTTS) in normal time at 8/11 with BoyleSports seems safe enough.
