Finland's World Cup hopes are hanging by a thread heading into their final qualifier but they could keep their faint dream alive for a few days at least with a victory over Malta.
The Finns need snookers to reach the play-offs as they trail second-place Poland by three points, having played a game more into the bargain.
That means they need the Poles to lose both their final two games, which seems highly unlikely as their clash at home to group leaders Netherlands is followed by a trip to Malta.
But if Finland manage to see off the Maltese in Helsinki it will at least put a bit of pressure on, provided the Dutch come out on top in the other Group G game.
Jacob Friis' side only managed to edge a 1-0 win in Malta earlier in the section but should find things a bit easier on home soil.
The Maltese have been pretty competitive in the group, aside from an 8-0 hammering in Amsterdam, and managed to draw twice with Lithuania.
They have nothing to play for in this game though and it would be a major surprise if they came home from Helsinki with anything.
How the bookies view it: Finn for the kill
Malta have been written off for this one, with BOYLE Sports pricing them at 16/1. Finland are 2/9 hot favourites and the draw pays 5/1.
Head to head: Finland to the four
These nations have faced off four times before and Finland have a perfect record so far. Malta have only scored twice across those four games and this is the first meeting ever held on Finnish soil.
Players to watch: Big Ben ready to strike
Benjamin Kallman is Finland's top scorer in this campaign, having netted three times. The Hannover forward should get the chance to add to his tally and is 5/4 at BOYLE Sports for another goal.
Saint Etienne forward Irvin Cardona looks like being the biggest threat for Malta. The former French youth international has made a few headlines since switching allegiances, with a goal and a sending-off so far in his four caps.
Probable line-ups
Finland should field an attacking line-up as they bid to finish with a flourish while Malta are likely to set up more defensively, having come close to claiming a 0-0 draw in the last meeting.
Finland: Hradecky, Ivanov, Lahteenmaki, Alho, Koski, Walta, Markhiev, Kairinen, Keskinen, Kallman, Pohjanpalo.
Malta: Bonello, Camenzuli, Shaw, Carragher, Muscat, Guillaumier, Chouaref, Teuma. P Mbong, Cardona, J Mbong.
Anything else catch the eye?
Finland also trail the Poles by 11 goals so they will need a heavy win in this match to stand any chance of reeling them in.
That makes them attractive in the handicap and backing the Finns at -2 pays a decent 13/8 with BOYLE Sports. Over 2.5 Finland goals also looks at 21/20, although they haven't scored more than twice in any of their qualifiers so far.
A lot will depend on whether Finland can make an early breakthrough but they should have too much firepower for Malta and backing the home team to score in both halves looks good value at 10/11.
The corner count could rise if Malta try to park the bus so backing Finland at -3.5 in the corner handicap is another decent option at 20/21.
