There is no rest for Atalanta and Bayern Munich, as it is already time for the next stage of the Champions League and the first match at the New Balance Arena in Bergamo.
Atalanta seem destined to face half of the Bundesliga this season, as this will be their third German opponent after Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund.
However, the gap between them and Bayern Munich is huge, and the general expectation is that La Dea's journey will end this round after the second leg in a week's time.
We cannot fail to mention the hosts' scoring record, as they have scored at least two goals in eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, have scored fewer than two goals in only two of their 38 games this season, which is an impressive statistic that should be a cause for concern for any opponent.
In fact, Bayern's away games in the Champions League have been far from smooth sailing, so perhaps Atalanta will have their chances too.
How the bookies view it: Few believe in Atalanta
Bookmakers are unanimous that Atalanta cannot expect anything good against the German champions, as the odds clearly reflect.
At the moment, Atalanta are available at 7/2, the draw is priced at 33/10, and Bayern Munich are available at 13/20.
Recent head-to-head: Atalanta took out two German teams this term
It is hardly surprising that this will be the first time Atalanta and Bayern Munich have met, given that the hosts are not regular participants in the tournament.
However, we can note that Atalanta have performed quite convincingly against German teams, with only three losses in a total of 13 matches in UEFA tournaments.
Players to watch: Scamacca loves the home crowd
Gianluca Scamacca may not score often enough, but when he does, he does it at the New Balance Arena.
Each of his last nine goals for Atalanta have been in front of his home crowd, and he has scored in each of the last three home games in the Champions League. Over the weekend, he scored a brace in the draw with Udinese.
The Bavarians may be without Harry Kane in this match, although manager Vincent Kompany didn’t rule out the possibility of him playing.
If he is out, we’ll definitely back Luis Diaz to score or assist, as he is having a sensational season. But with 32 goal contributions, he is a perfect pick even with the English striker on the pitch.
Probable line-ups
Atalanta: Carnesecchi, Kolasinac, Hien, Kossounou, Zappacosta, De Roon, Bernasconi, Pasalic, Zalewski, Samardzic, Scamacca
Bayern Munich: Urbig, Laimer, Tah, Upamecano, Stanisic, Pavlovic, Kimmich, Diaz, Musiala, Olise, Kane
Anything else catch the eye?
Neither of Bayern’s UCL away games this season was flawless, and they conceded against all four opponents, including the smallest team in the competition – Pafos.
Atalanta are a serious challenger with impressive attacking abilities, but their defence is far from ideal. This makes us believe we will see goals from both sides, but a possible German triumph. In fact, we would even venture to predict a 1-2 win for Bayern Munich.
