Ajax and Benfica have made horrendous starts in the UEFA Champions League so both sides will be desperate for a victory when they face off in Amsterdam.
These historic clubs have lifted the European Cup six times between them but they've been a far cry from the elite this season.
After four rounds of Champions League games, neither side has picked up a single point so a victory in this game is essential if they're to stand any chance of reaching the knockout stages.
A shock loss at home to Qarabag on matchday one set the tone for Benfica, with Bruno Lage replaced by Jose Mourinho after that defeat.
The Special One has since overseen defeats to Chelsea, Newcastle and Leverkusen, which is doing little to dispel the notion his career is in irreversible decline.
Ajax's campaign has been even more disastrous, with the Dutch giants conceding 14 times and scoring just once across defeats to Inter, Marseille, Chelsea and Galatasaray.
The aptly named Fred Grim has now taken charge in the wake of John Heitinga's sacking earlier this month and he will be hoping a win over Benfica can spark their season into life.
How the bookies view it: Ajax too big at 3/1
I thought the bookies might be sitting on the fence for this one but Benfica are odds-on favourites at a best 19/20 with Sky Bet.
With all the upheaval at Ajax, they are as big as 3/1 with BetMGM, which could attract a few punters with home advantage. The draw pays 11/4 with the same firm.
Head to head: Benfica on the rise
Ajax are on top in the overall head to head, with four wins and two defeats in the nine meetings, but it's Benfica who have been on top recently.
The Portuguese side are unbeaten in their last three games with Ajax, including a 1-0 win on their last visit to Amsterdam in 2022.
Players to watch: Wout to impress
Veteran striker Wout Weghorst should lead the line again for Ajax and he's having a decent season in a struggling side. The target man has scored seven times this term and is 12/5 at Bet365 for another goal.
Benfica's star striker Vangelis Pavlidis was injured on international duty with Greece and could miss out here. Croatian youngster Franjo Ivanovic could deputise and he's 9/4 for a goal at BetMGM.
Probable line-ups
Ajax look set to be without winger Steven Berghuis and midfielder Branco Van den Boomen again.
The international games were costly for Benfica, with Pavlidis, Dodi Lukebakio and Georgiy Sudakov all picking up injuries. That leaves Mourinho light of attacking options, although Pavlidis' problem isn't thought to be too serious.
Ajax: Pasveer, Gaaei, Wijndal, Baas, Sutalo, Regeer, Gloukh, Godts, Klaassen, Mokio, Weghorst.
Benfica: Trubin, Dahl, Otamendi, Araujo, Barrenechea, Aursnes, Schjelderup, Rios, Ivanovic, Barreiro, Prestianni.
Anything else catch the eye?
With Benfica suffering so many injuries in attack and Benfica such a big price, it could pay to back the home side in the double chance at a best 20/21 with BOYLE Sports.
Both sides need a win to stand a chance of saving their European campaign so it should be a decent watch. BTTS pays just 13/20 at Betway but adding on over 2.5 goals boosts the odds to evens at Ladbrokes.
This should be a close game between two teams at a low ebb and the half-time draw looks decent value at 11/8 with William Hill.
