Cleveland Cavaliers vs Detroit Pistons: Pistons to win with handicap (+10.5) @ 9/10
While the Cavs are clearly the better team and likely to win this match, the Pistons should be better this season than they were last season and even last season they never lost by 11 or more points to the Cavs in their five meetings.
In fact, after losing four in a row, the Pistons beat the Cavs when they met last time, so while I don't expect Detroit to win here, I do expect them to put up a solid fight, just like they did in their last game against the Pacers when they lost by just six points.
New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers: Over 227 total points @ 9/10
The Pacers are known for their high-paced basketball, which leads to both them and their opponents scoring many points. Last season, the Pacers allowed 119 points per game, the same as some of the worst teams in the league, like the Pistons. On the other hand, they scored an average of 121.6 points per game, which is three points per game more than the next team (OKC Thunder).
If we look at last season's games between the Knicks and the Pacers, we can see that two of their three regular season duels have gone over 227 total points, which is what I expect to see tonight as well.
Portland Trail Blazers vs New Orleans Pelicans: Pelicans to win with handicap (-6) @ 9/10
I was adamant that the Blazers are the worst team this season in the league in my previous writings here and they dully proved that quickly with a convincing loss to the Warriors, in which they've allowed 140 points.
On the other hand, the Pelicans dispatched of the Bulls by 12 points and they are a team that has many qualities and a good chance to make the playoffs in the scary Western Conference. I don't see Portland being able to give any trouble to the Pelicans this evening and if we look at their previous meetings, New Orleans have beaten the Blazers six times in a row, each time by more than six points.
