NBA betting tips

Today we have a few interesting NBA games on the schedule and some of them will start early, allowing us in Europe to watch without having to stay up all night. Anyway, here are my NBA betting tips for today:

All odds for my NBA predictions are taken from Paddy Power and subject to change.

Indiana Pacers vs Philadelphia 7ers: Over 228.5 total points @ 5/6

While the 76ers will once again have to manage without Joel Embiid and Paul George, they have enough firepower to keep up the pace with the Pacers in terms of scoring and I can see that being the case tonight.

After all, the last six meetings between these two teams have all gone over 228.5 total points, with the lowest point total in any of those games being 240. So, I expect another high-scoring treat when the Pacers host Philadelphia this evening and one of my NBA picks for tonight is over 228.5 total points on this game.

Portland Trail Blazers vs New Orleans Pelicans: Pelicans to win with handicap (-6.5) @ 5/6

This will be the second time in a row that the Blazers host the Pelicans and last time I was wrong in expecting New Orleans to win with handicap since they've struggled to get the win and only secured the victory by two points.

Despite that, I stand by my expectations and once again, I say that the Pelicans will beat Portland by seven or more points since I firmly believe that this Blazers team is the worst team in the West by a long shot.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Atlanta Hawks: Thunder over 119.5 total points @ 4/5

Both teams enter this game after winning their first two matches, but the Thunder are simply a league above the Hawks and I can't see Atlanta hanging in this game.

However, rather than betting on the handicap, I decided to bet on Thunder to score 120+ points. After all, that's what they've done in the last four duels against the Hawks in a row in previous seasons. On top of that, the Hawks have conceded 118 points per game in their first two games of the new season, against the Hornets and the Nets, which are two teams far from the quality of the Thunder. Also, Atlanta hosted both of those games and this game will be played in Oklahoma, so that should give the Thunder additional boost.

In any case, OKC are one of best teams in the league this season and the Hawks will feel that tonight.
