Cleveland Cavaliers vs Los Angeles Lakers: Lakers to win with handicap (+4.5) @ 9/10

The first on the list of my NBA picks for tonight is the duel between two teams that started the season well, the Cavs and the Lakers. Cleveland had a relatively easy schedule in their first three games, but they showed how serious they are with a win over NY Knicks last time around. Meanwhile, the Lakers have lost to the Suns after three wins in a row, in what was their first away game of the season.

So, this will likely be a very exciting game and I expect it to go down to the wire, which is why I've gone with the Lakers on spread. Furthermore, the Lakers have beaten Cleveland in both of their duels last season, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are the first team to beat the Cavs this season.

Indiana Pacers vs Boston Celtics: Celtics over 120.5 total points @ 4/5

After meeting in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, where the Celtics swept the Pacers, the two teams will meet shortly after the start of the new season and they enter this game in different moods — Boston with four wins in a row and Indiana on a three-game losing streak.

Still, the Pacers are capable of hanging with the Celtics, especially if their offense is working, so I've avoided betting on the spread. Instead, I've gone with the Celtics to score 121+ points as part of my NBA betting tips, which they've done in three of their four games so far.

On top of that, the Pacers aren't known as a good defensive team and the Celtics have put 121 or more past them in three of their five duels in last regular season, including one game in which they've scored 155 points.

Miami Heat vs New York Knicks: New York Knicks to win @ 9/10

Although the Knicks enter this game with a 1-2 record and the Heat have won twice and lost once, the Knicks had a much tougher schedule, losing to the Celtics and the Cavs so far. Meanwhile, the Heat have won twice in a row after their loss to the Magic at the start of the season, but their wins came against the Pistons and the Hornets.

In any case, the Knicks are a better team this season and while they're dealing with injuries at the center position, I feel they still have more than enough to beat the Heat, even in Miami.
