HEERENVEEN may have been well beaten in the Dutch Cup but received plaudits from all round the site after scoring a late consolation.
Ajax v Heerenveen games always tend to produce and after last Sunday's 4-4 draw punters were expecting more of the same for their Amsterdam reunion.
However, after a three-goal blitz by the home men we had to until 84 minutes for the goal we needed.

Kevinmac has posted a preview of the FA Cup tie between Arsenal and Man United and in the Scottish Championship it's Ayr v Dundee United. Bristol City v Bolton is the other FA Cup tie and should be a home win at a short price.
Ayr haven't won since beating United 5-0 at Tannadice on November 30 and without top scorer Lawrence Shankland have lost three in a row by 1-0 including a shocker to junior side Auchinleck Talbot in the Scottish Cup last Saturday.
Shankland and key winger Alan Forrest, brother of Celtic's James, are confirmed absentees and I have to fancy United who have lost just one in six and have done some good business in the transfer window.
They are a best 8-5 at bet365, although a few weeks ago it would be closer to 3-1, and I'm taking them as a Super Single.

I started a couple of rolling bets this past week but apart from picking off a couple of small winners in the 1st to 3rd bets, I essentially crapped out around the 4th bet. Yesterday I had a double on Japan and Genk. Japan did the biz from the penalty spot but Genk ended that match 2-2 with Oostende with the hosts down to 9 players and the visitors to 10 players.
I’ll look again today, If I find something that interests me, I’ll post, if I don’t, I’ll be backing Derby away to Accrington tomorrow and Forest to start the new martin O’Neill era at the county ground against Wigan. Last Saturdays match never went to plan with Forest losing 1 nil to Bristol and subsequently dropping a handful of places. I think in hindsight, Forest did have a few players out with suspensions. I’ll be looking into that more in depth.
Derby’s Lampard has made no secret that he likes a cup run, we’ve beaten some decent opposition in both cups, including 1 replay and 2x penalty shootouts. A win away to Accrington Stanley looks a big price at around 17/20. ( A similar price to Forest hosting Wigan in the league). Last week, we beat Reading 2-1 – a side that has a tendency to trip us up, then just a few days before , the 120 mins of football and a faultless penalty shoutout away to Southampton.
Derby have just signed Ashley Cole on a freebie until the end of the season, he’s been told he’s to fight for a place and at 38, Lampard still reckons he’s stayed in shape since leaving LA Galaxy in October. I think his experience in the back 4 would be invaluable especially given that Derby have been using their 3rd or 4th choice left backs for much of the season because of long term injuries to Forsyth and Ollson. Derby don’t seem to be making any more noises in this transfer window. There’s still time but I think with the likes of Shackell, Thorne, Martin, Butterfield and Anya all being left to find football with other clubs through loan deals, shows the gravy train of big wages at Derby is over. Its about book balancing and getting rid of a top heavy squad.
I’m told Accrington Stanley will use the FA cup revenue to recover their car park and get new drains. Ooooh the magic of the FA cup.

Dundee Unites have made some useful signings in the transfer window and new boss Robbie Neilson is starting to shape his team.
He’s seen the best and worst of United in his three months in charge but they come into this full of confidence and should fancy themselves against an Ayr side who I feel have ran out of puff .

Two games standing out for me today, the more obvious FA Cup game, and the Bundesliga match.
Both looked prepped for goals although the odds in the Arsenal v United game are rather poor, so I’m avoiding this as a single. Main focus is going to be overseas in Germany and holds value. Both teams in good scoring AND conceding form, and it should be a cracker;
