MAN UNITED are aiming to move back into second place on Monday but even if they do the title race is officially over.

I said it months ago but no one's going to argue now – not even maccathered – with Man City moving 18 points clear of Liverpool after beating Chelsea.

United can close that gap to 16 by winning at Crystal Palace but even if they do City aren't going to lose six games having only been beaten by Liverpool in the league.

Liverpool and United are both 5-4 at Coral in the betting without City market and for now you have to fancy the Anfield side although it could depend who goes further in the Champions League. Spurs are 4-1 with Chelsea 18-1s.

After the weather hit my tips on Saturday it was a tragedy that reduced both of my trebles to doubles on Sunday – one winner and one loser.

The untimely death of Sampdoria's Davide Astori rightly wiped out the Serie A card so my Top Treble was reduced to Man City and Rangers and over 2.5 goals at 9-5.

Atletico Madrid not scoring at Barcelona beat the btts double while Jason Cummings hogged all the goals so my 1pt Super Single on James Tavernier was a loser.

Well done to Greg, Jordan and all the other winners including those who tipped Brighton to beat Arsenal at 10-3.

As well as Palace v Man United we have Celta Vigo v Las Palmas in La Liga and not much else to look at. There are three Jupiler League games and one in French Ligue 2.

Man United can't always be trusted away from home, especially at 1-2, but I reckon they'll see off a Palace side in poor form and without key players such as Wilfried Zaha and Yohan Cabaye.

United have won eight out of 10 against Palace who have taken just two points from 15 with draws against Newcastle and West Brom.

I saw a comment about Celta Vigo wanting to lose to Las Palmas to make rivals Deportivo's situation worse in the drop zone. I don't understand that as Celta can still finish second and take the final Euro place.

At home they've score 2+ in their last four while Las Palmas have failed to net in six on the road and failed to win in 11 away in the league but did hold Barcelona 1-1 at home last week which will have boosted confidence.

Celta to win pays the same as Celta to score 2+ so I'll go with that. Over 2.5 goals has come up in the last nine meetings between the sides but can Las Palmas contribute?

Going for Man United to win and Celta to score 2+ as a double. Looked at stats for the Jupiler League games and most likely to see goals is Fortuna Sittard v MVV – both have scored in the past five meetings.

Heads up for a potential goal-fest in in Czech U21 league today.

Pribram host Dukla Prague (ko 12pm). These two are the top two in a goal-laden league when it comes to goals. Both have played 19 matches, Pribram’s games seeing 94 goals (av 4.9pg) and Dukla’s 92 (av 4.8pg).

What’s interesting is that the league has just returned after a winter break. Pribram’s one home game since then was a 0-0 draw, which went completely against the form guide as the 5 previous home games before the break had all seen 5+ goals.

Dukla however have returned from the break with an 8-4(!) away win and a 4-1 home win.

To sum up in-play goals is definitely worth keeping tabs on – currently priced up at 1/5 for >2.5 (365) and 1/2 for >3.5 (SkyBet) but Dukla to win @3/1 (365) may also be a shout.

Doubt I’ll be the only one picking this out for tonight. If all goes ahead, I can’t see Gainsborough getting much of a result at Curzon Ashton. The visitors have lost their last seven away from home to nil without a goal being scored in the process. The last time they did score away from home was October, so that just goes to show how bad of an away run this has been. Curzon are hit and miss but have a good record scoring at home, only failing to net twice all season. Their last win at home was an impressive 4-1 win over a promotion chasing York, and they’ve scored 3 goals in three of their last four. Expect that to continue tonight.

Only thing I’d add to that Jordan is Nash are the kings of conceding – have been for as far as I can remember…3 clean sheets in the last 20 (85%) is about par for the course for them. Good luck.

On Monday evening, in-form Union Bank of India (UBI) will be looking to strengthen their position in the Elite Division table when they will face PIFA Colaba at Cooperage Stadium, Churchgate. A win will help Union Bank of India to leapfrog Western Railway who are sitting third in the table.

PIFA Colaba is set to resume their Elite Division campaign. They have played the least number of matches coming to tomorrow’s game against UBI. PIFA is currently lying ninth in the table with five points in as many games where they have won just once.

A win will help PIFA to leapfrog newly-promoted side Century Rayon who has six points in nine games so far.

Bet to consider – UBI to win ???

Cracker of a night in Paraguay – the earlier pick turned up two winners and Libertad nailed it 1-4 away from home ?

Over 3.5 goals at 12/5 (NB)
Should be an end to end game it’s getting to the stage now where a point is no good, palace can not just sit back they have to go for it and i do believe they will score at least one, palace created some good chances against Spurs and you would think they will against Man Utd,a win here for palace would lift them out of the bottom three and they now have to go for it which should give us an open game.
    Best of luck.

LAFC Goal time was also a winner with a 3 point stake @ 5/6 ??

  12. davros 3 years ago

Was quite tempted by Palace getting something out of tonight’s game against Man Utd (or at least scoring), however these stats have put me off somewhat!
•Crystal Palace haven’t won any of their 17 Premier League meetings with Manchester United (D3, L14) – a Premier League record for most games against an opponent without winning.
•Crystal Palace have lost all eight Premier League games this season without Wilfried Zaha, scoring once and conceding 18 goals.

No Zaha tonight so will side with a Utd away win at 11/20, adding Btts in the Swiss game between Vaduz and Servette, and btts Trabzonspor v Besiktas (has landed in last 6 head to heads).
    Treble pays around 3.1/1
    Good luck all today!

  13. wasclueless 3 years ago

Lorient v Le Harve BTTS, Utd to Score Evens – Main Bet
Stats for the French games strongly point to BTTS. Last 5 H2Hs, Lorient have netted in last 16 games but conceded in last 7. Le Harve have netted in 7 / last 8. You would also hope Utd can score at least once at Palace.
    Small Stake:
    Lukaku ATGS, > 8 Match Corners 2/1
    GL all today

    • wasclueless 3 years ago

      Wealdstone v Welling
      Welling > 1.5 TGS 6/5 half stake
Stats suggest Welling should score here having scored in their last 12 away games. They have also scored 2 or more in their last 6. Wealdstone recently conceded twice at home against Dartford, Gloucester and Hampton & Richmond all sides with similar away form.

  14. cockerspaniel 3 years ago

I think Celta Vigo are far to short tonight-there is no love between them and Coruna and they will not be busting a gut to do them a favour against Las Palmas. I`m leaving this one well alone.

    • Mr Fixit 3 years ago

Surely Celta can’t think like that – sixth isn’t out of reach for them and they need to look after themselves.

  15. HullShaker 3 years ago

Just awaiting updates from Twitter but match goes ahead as it stands – could be a ‘Shaw’ thing…

The mighty SLA face a Grantham side who are also in the promotion pack and this ought to be a game with plenty of action.

Both sides aren’t shy of a goal and despite SLA’s home dominance, they’ll have to contend with the divisions leading scorer in the form of Grantham’s Lee Shaw!

Not a part of the footballing card I usually venture into, but I figure there could be goals on the menu in one AFC game this afternoon.

    Al-Gharafa v Al-Ahli

Al-Ahli have been uncharacteristically leaky on the road in the Saudi League this year (just one domestic clean sheet away from home). They visit Al-Gharafa, whose games in Qatar rarely lack goals. They’ve scored 19 in 10 home games, conceding 16, too, and come into this one on the back of a 6-1 home win against one of the better sides in Qatar.

Al-Gharafa and Al-Ahli both beat Tractor-Sazi to nil in the group so far, while in each sides’ games against Al-Jazira, both sides netted (2-1 and 3-2 respectively). I fancy both to net here, too.

    Al-Gharafa v Al-Ahli [BTTS]
    Xamax [To Score]

    Double @ 19/25 (Bet365)

    Half Stakes:

    Al-Gharafa v Al Ahli

Just been looking at the euro games for this week and one standout game for me is Ac Milan v Arsenal i’m backing Ac Milan to win this one at 11/10 took this earlier this morning,After watching Arsenal against Brighton that’s it for me only one winner here,Ac Milan are resurgent and look like an Ac Milan team of old, tough one for Wenger.

    • Mr Fixit 3 years ago

Can’t argue with that – Milan been superb in recent weeks.

    • alex_mufc83 3 years ago

Yeah looks a nice pick that Macca – very good odds considering. Reckon i’ll follow this

    • maccathered 3 years ago

It could be a route into the Champions league for Ac Milan who will be desperate to get back in the competition as it attracts the top players, same goes for Arsenal but they don’t deserve to be in it,Arsenal have no shape at all and look like they don’t know who is supposed to be playing where, their defense is atrocious,it might even be worth taking Milan on a handicap also.

    • kyle b 3 years ago

Agree that Milan look solid for the win against Arsenal but id be very wary of taking them on the handicaps, expect it to be a narrow Win due to Milan lack of clinical finishing in front of goal. Watched a few of there matches and still lacking that star striker, Nikola Kalinic is a shadow of his former self at Fiorentina, Andre Silva not adapted to life in Italy and Patrick Cutrone although a fan favourite and works very hard for the team both offensively and defensively is still learning and doesnt always get himself into the best positions as a lone striker, would be ideal alongside a natural finisher in a front two. Impressed by how insanely quick Milan are on the counter attack, even seen centre halves Bonucci and Romagnoli involved in several of those, they have also both been an absolute rock at the back in recent times. Dont expect many goals at all, Milan to edge this encounter 1-0 or 2-0 I think, Under 2.5 goals looks massive to me at evens.

    • kyle b 3 years ago

Corner markets worth a look nearer to game time as well.

    Afternoon gents

Belguim Reserve league action from me tonight – a Legaue I keep banging on about for goals

All 7 games were over 2.5 goals last week with 6 of them over 3.5+

One of my favourites are in action tonight

Kortrijk Res v Waasland Res 7pm

The hosts are goals daft – 9 of their their last 10 games have seen over 3.5 goals ( seven of which seen 5+ )

57 goals from those 10 games with just as many conceded as scored. They welcome a Waasland side who enjoy ( or not) a regular battering away from home. 51 goals conceded in thief last 13 away games, with 8 of this games seeing their defence breached at least 4 times

This looks like another Belguim game where both sides will be contributing

Back over 1.5 match goals 1/1
    Over 3.5 match goals (NAP)

Will appear inplay for 3.5 goals / be around 10/11 with Bet365

    • geo 3 years ago

Would be better if you post your bets close to the time these odds are actually there and not when they’re looking like they’re about to win. Don’t see a point in putting up bets after they’ve won or are about to win.

    • alex_mufc83 3 years ago

What an utterly ludicrous way of looking at things.

I have also noticed this with Fraser

    • alex_mufc83 3 years ago

      Lionel = geo

      Nice try, not.

    • fraser51 3 years ago

Geo you replied 16mins after my post, i posted soon as i placed the cards bet at one card shown. Corners bet was placed before but at that point in time it was level so there was still value to be had if you wanted to follow.

I am part of a Facebook where I post my bets as live. Logging on to a separate website, finding the thread and posting does take slightly longer

      My inplay bets were :

      O2.5 cards 4/7 – £100 – WON
      Man Utd +1 corner 8/11 – £100 – WON
      O3.5 cards 1/2 – £110 – WON
      O3.5 cards & O11 corners – 17/10 – £50 – LOST

    • alex_mufc83 3 years ago

Fraser – don’t worry at all we all know you post plenty of tips well in advance.

Geo/Lionel is a troll who frequents this blog, always on the lookout to get some cheap thrills from trolling someone. If it’s not Mr F’s incredibly rare grammar mistakes, it’s picking on a punter. He never ever posts tips but gets a weird kick out of begging people out on here.
Ignore him. Have plenty of choice words to describe him but have more intelligence than to give the saddo anymore attention.

All been well,Man Utd cannot play like they did tonight otherwise they will be lambs to the slaughter, anyone looking to back goals tommorrow in the Liverpool game i would hang fire as Klopp set to make 3 changes and only 3,my guess is the front three.

      Excellent macca.
Got to say I didn’t see this amount of goals coming.

What do you make of spurs v Juventus.
I can see juve and Milan v arsenal being inspired in a way into putting in a performance for fiorentinas captain.
Daft line of thinking I know but I see juve winning 1-0 or 2-1.
      Am I mad ????

    • elvis parsley 3 years ago

3-2 United, big win this if we hold on.
Jeez, we are the new Liverpool, goals galore.

    • maccathered 3 years ago

Thanks lads this was never going to be a 0-0, i read the preview from selectabet and though omg unders wow,one thing is for sure Man Utd will have to play better than that against us or it could be 6-0 by /ht lol,i will post my thoughts in the morning on the Spurs v Juventus game.

    • alex_mufc83 3 years ago

Oh come on Macca don’t start haha

    • maccathered 3 years ago

You don’t think you can play like that against Liverpool and not get punished, think a little alex, palace put two past you with ease,so what can a team that is scoring for fun do and have the best form at this present time in the league especially away from home. Also Palace could have had more.

    • alex_mufc83 3 years ago

I’m not saying united weren’t poor tonight because they were shocking for 70 mins.
But United v Liverpool is an entirely different game Macca as you well know. All previous form goes out the window in this fixture.
There won’t be a drubbing of either team, it will be a close affair again I’m sure.

    • maccathered 3 years ago

I have been to plenty of games between Man utd and Liverpool and have see united getting a drubbing when playing in the manner they played tonight, its not out of the question for Liverpool to go there and win 4-0 thats the difference between these two teams.

    • alex_mufc83 3 years ago

Have to agree to disagree then Macca.

Listen that’s still a great return lad!!

Now do me a favour and don’t give it back to the bookies! Bank a chunk at least ??

    • maccathered 3 years ago

Its papers over the cracks a wonder goal at the end, don’t get carried away, your superstar gave the ball away 35 times,if you give the ball away 35 times against a top side your looking at a heavy defeat.

    • alex_mufc83 3 years ago

As I say, United v Liverpool totally different game and should be close.
Last 4 h2h have been draws and under 3 goals. Mou will set out to defend and counter.

    • maccathered 3 years ago

You cannot set up to defend at home.

    • alex_mufc83 3 years ago

Mou is very defensive as we all know. I think this game will be 1-1 or 2-2.
      We shall see.

    • geo 3 years ago

Because two people have noticed the same thing and the observation is negative it has to be the same person. That is a very simple way of thinking Alex. If I was a poster and put up bets and then congratulated myself which I’m sure must happen you wouldn’t assume this. I’ve got a strong enough mind not to feel like I have to back myself up with a secondary fake account.

    • geo 3 years ago

I’m more surprised that it isn’t mentioned more how many of his bets are posted late and especially after they have won.

    • fraser51 3 years ago

The top of the thread were my weekend selections which were all posted pre match

I have posted my mls selections for this weekend 5 days early, is that plenty of notice?

You fail to comment on both, but you comment on my inplay. Would you like a copy of my bet history?

I typed up a full mls 2018 preview which took a good few hours, where was your comments then?

I tipped Toronto to win the mls at 7/1 for 9months basically every week on here last season.

Yes I bet inplay cards/corners and I find it the best way to make long term profit but I post plenty of pre match selections.

From now on I will keep my inplay selections to myself and only post pre match thoughts.

    • fraser51 3 years ago

P.s I post regular on Jordan’s nba thread if you want to keep an eye on me
