IT'S another packed weekend and I didn't find it easy to pick the selections especially on WDW so caution is advised.

I put up a Saturday Super Single shortlist with 10 bets and one was St Mirren to win at Dunfermline. I think the Championship leaders will prevail but have decided to go with Saints draw no bet since it pays bigger than evens and the Pars are lying just behind them in second.

Well done to Greg and Jordan for their winners last night. I put up two Super Singles and it was one winner and a loser.

Alfredo Morelos scored for Rangers at Partick Thistle for a 13-10 success but Top Oss reversed the form book as they crashed 2-0 at home to Jong AZ. I needed another match goal for a double and the Topossers failed to net for the first time since April.

I tipped Bournemouth to win their first points and Jermain Defoe to score so hope some were on those too.

I've posted Scottish and English betting previews where my tips are reasoned as well as both to score treble posts.

Check out the usual tips from the regulars before picking your bets and keep an eye on regular foreign football posts throughout the weekend.

Remember to check welovebetting for their tips and video chat over the weekend.

    Good timing and Mr F

Just finished pulling together a short list for tomorrow

Quite a few I like the look of

Hibs v Motherwell over 2.5 goals

Dunfermline v St Mirren over 2.5

    Montrose v Stirling over 2.5

    Bristol City v Derby BTTS

    Cardiff v Sheff W BTTS

    Will post in the morning

So much to go at on a big card but it’s often a curse – best advice is to stick to what you know…

    EASTLEIGH VS. FYLDE:

Fylde may not be faring to well but they are as allergic to not scoring as they are a clean sheet!

Eastleigh’s own scoring record is woeful but the chemistry of this match ought to snap them out of a barren spell…some healthy prices here gents:

    BTTS…4/6
    ????

    FYLDE OVER 1.5 TGS…7/4
    ??

    ****************************

No write-up here but 3 teams I expect to capitalise on weaker opposition:

    IPSWICH
    BLACKBURN
    WIGAN

    OVER 1.5 TGS…4.93/1
    ??

    Best of luck ?

Am on this in ma 5fold from last night in a few bets, 2, 3+ gls & btts BH. Fylde been ma favourite over last 2 seasons in lower leagues, won a fair few 2 seasons ago then fell just short. Hopefully the goals flow ☘☘

Hi gents. Today’s pick is from the Championship and I can see Mr F fancies them too.

Ipswich host the current anchors Bolton who have had a dismal start to the season following their automatic promotion last season. With five losses from seven, it’s a tough ask up against Ipswich who are looking for 3 points after two consecutive losses themselves. Unbeaten against Bolton in their last eight, and winning the last four at home to nil.

    English Championship – 3:00PM

    Ipswich Over 1.5 Team Goals @ EVS @ 888Sport – 5 points

Looks a decent price for Ipswich against a poor side.

Heres my thoughts on 3 of today’s fixtures from the PL and Bundesliga.

    Premier League

    15:00 Liverpool vs Burnley – Prediction 2.1

Best Bets – Burnley plus 2 AH to win @1.675 (4/6), BTTS @1/1

    Key Facts

    * Burnley have lost by more than 1 goal in only 1 of their last 15 Premier League AWAY fixtures (3.1 at Everton in April)
    * Burnley have only lost 1 of their last 7 away Premier League fixtures
    * Burnley have remarkably collected 4 points from their opening 2 away PL fixtures, against last seasons top 2 in the division (Chelsea and Spurs)
    * Burnley have seen BTTS in 11 of their last 14 away PL fixtures
    * Burnley have scored in 12 of their last 14 away PL fixtures
    * Burnley are missing key goalkeeper Tom Heaton through injury. Nick Pope will deputize
    * Liverpool have kept clean sheets in their last 4 home PL fixtures (2 so far in this campaign) They had seen BTTS in 8 of their previous 9 at Anfield in the PL
    * Liverpool have though only kept 2 clean sheets in 7 competitive fixtures so far this season
    * Liverpool have conceded 7 goals in the past week, a 5.0 thrashing at Man City followed by a 2.2 draw with Sevilla at Anfield in the CL
    * Liverpool won 2.1 in last season’s corresponding fixture
    * Liverpool are missing key man Sadio Mane. Liverpool have won only 5 of the 12 PL games that Mane has missed in the last 13 months
    * Liverpool lost 2.0 at Burnley in their most recent meeting. Mane also missed that match

    Final Verdict

Some really positive stats on show here that suggest Burnley can run Liverpool close and I’m banking on the visitors scoring and not losing by more than 1 in a potentially tough fixture for the hosts.

One worry is the absence of England keeper Tom Heaton but with Liverpool missing Mane, I expect Burnley to make life tough for a Liverpool team that must be feeling somewhat mentally drained after their comprehensive loss at Man City, and their subsequent draw with Sevilla (having missed a penalty when leading 2.1) and I feel they may struggle to carve open a Burnley side that have seldom received a heavy loss on the road in the last year.

Of course Liverpool have added the dangerous Mo Salah and they did smash Arsenal 4.0 in their last home PL fixture, but Burnley are a sturdier team than the Gunners these days and even without their first choice keeper in nets, I fancy they can really go toe to toe with Liverpool with Sean Dyche always getting an organised performance out of his team.

Burnley have added goals to their away repertoire, scoring in 12 of their last 14 on the road, while they have only conceded 3 goals on 2 occasions in their last 16 on their travels.

I fancy the Clarets to score and hold Liverpool to a narrow defeat at worst so I will be taking 1/1 on BTTS and trying Burnley plus 2 AH at 4/6. Money back if they lose by more than 1 goal.

    17:30 Tottenham vs Swansea – Prediction – 3.0

Best Bets -Spurs to score 3 or more @10/11, Spurs -1 to win @4/7, Over 2.5 goals @8/15, Eriksen to score anytime @13/10

    Key Facts

    * Each of the last 7 meetings between these two sides has seen over 2.5 goals scored. 6 of those also saw BTTS
    * Spurs have scored 2 goals or more in all 7 fixtures, with 3 or more in 3 of the last 5
    * Spurs also managed to win 6 of those 7 meetings, with Swansea registering only a draw
    * Christian Eriksen has scored 6 goals in his last 6 appearances against Swansea.

    Final Verdict

Spurs have a great record over Swansea and considering their recent form, I expect them to continue the pattern here and I’m backing them to score 3 or more @10/11 odds with Harry Kane beginning to find his feet again following another goalless August.

Swansea have failed to score in 3 of their 4 PL fixtures so far this season and while they have managed to score against Spurs in 6 of their last 7 meetings, they have certainly lost a huge amount of firepower with the loss of Sigurdsson and Llorente and I can’t see them scoring here in what should be a comfortable home win for a really impressive Spurs team.

Spurs were excellent in their midweek win over Dortmund and while they are still adjusting to their new Wembley surroundings, I fancy them to really do a number on the Swans here so I’m backing them to score 3 or more @10/11 and to win with something to spare @4/7 on the -1 handicap. While Swansea will certainly not line up in the kamikaze style that Dortmund did, I still expect spurs to be too good here and if recent meetings between these two sides are anything to go on, we should go over 2.5 goals @8/15 with each of the last 7 between these two sides following that pattern.

One more pick here is in the anytime scorer market with Christian Eriksen holding a tremendous record against Swansea with 6 in his last 6 against the Swans so he must be worth a flutter at 13/10 to score.

Spurs -1 is the best bet here but I do fancy them to get 3 or more as well with Christian Eriksen the value in the anytime scorer market.

    Bundesliga

    14:30 Bayern Munich vs Mainz 05 – Prediction – 3.1

Best Bets – Mainz to score @10/11, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @5/4

    Key Facts

    * Bayern have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of their last 5 home Bundesliga fixtures
    * Bayern have kept only 1 clean sheet in their last 5 Bundesliga fixtures
    * Mainz are unbeaten in their last 2 away league fixtures against Bayern, winning 2.1 in 2016 and drawing 2.2 earlier this year.
    * Mainz have scored in 4 of their last 5 away meetings at Bayern
    * Mainz recorded a fine 3.1 win over Leverkusen in their most recent Bundesliga fixture
    * Mainz have failed to score in their last 3 away Bundesliga fixtures
    * Bayern have seen over 2.5 goals scored in 19 of their last 22 matches against Mainz in all competitions.

    Final Verdict

Mainz are well priced to score here, given their recent performances against the Bundesliga kings although their recent away league form does explain the 10/11 price on a Mainz goal but with the hosts not yet firing on all cylinders, Mainz can score and that’s my best bet at 10/1. It is a fixture that Bayern usually win so BTTS and over 2.5 goals also seems quite possible at 5/4 with the over 2.5 goals pick safer, but much shorter at just 4/11.

Bayern should certainly claim the points but Mainz will take confidence from their win over Leverkusen last week, and indeed their last two trips to Munich and I can see them scoring and making it a trickier day for the champions than they might expect.

Leroy, how many points do you put on each bet please? Been following you a while now, nice and simply and you much keep in profit what I can see! Keep it up mate

    • leroy 7 years ago

Cheers @phillis, it’s a fair question. I considered posting points totals (as I keep track myself anyway) but I didn’t really want the unnecessary pressure of going through bad patches and having that record hanging over my head for all to see. Of course, it hangs over my head personally but I fear I would start making rash betting decisions in an attempt to make up for losses and keep up appearances.

@Hullshaker uses a star system to represent confidence and I presume hint towards his stakes and it’s something I have considered. Maybe I’ll steal that idea from him?

I realise I’m swerving the question a bit, though. As far as today goes, my bets are pretty much ordered above from most confident to least confident. I hope that helps somewhat!

    Forest v Wolves…

Our recent record against Forest isn’t bad. Not lost against them in the last 5 games. Winning 3 and drawing 2. Heart says Wolves to win today.

    Head is less confident.

Being a season ticket holder I see all games.

Going forward we look incredible and I think will continue to give defences huge problems.

Defensively we look sound and organised.

    BUT…..

We can’t defend set pieces at the moment and it’s a tad worrying.

I expect a similar side to that of Saturday and Tuesday where slight alterations were made
Defence will be Batth, Coady and Miranda (god knows when big Wily Boly will return)

Wing backs will be Doc and Vinagre unless Barry Douglas returns.

Neves in the middle with one of Saiss or N’daiye.

Front 3 I expect to be our Cav, Bonatini, Jota which is our best front 3 until Costa is back.

Tuesday I recommended a wolves win, Jota to score, Bonatini to score and they duly obliged.

Today I’m not so confident.i see goals though and it seems Jota has found his shooting boots.

    ***********

    My recommendations:

    Jota ATGS – 12/5 b365. 2 points.

    ***********

This is a ridiculous price for a player with 2 goals in his last 2.
I think the prIce is a gift. Jota has looked something special lately.

Wouldn’t rule out BTTS on this one as I see both netting.
Think we will edge it it today but this is where my wolves fan heart doesn’t over rule my betting head.

    • andynffc 7 years ago

It’s ok we can’t defend set pieces either ?Forest are hard to call at the moment, we are a young side much improved and learning and in transition under MW. We have been up and down if you keep McKay quiet you will be all good as he has created or scored 6 out of the last 10 goals. Think wolves will win 2-0 but you never know with us at the moment! There should be goals anyway. There isn’t much in this league and everyone can beat each other, but wolves and Leeds look strong teams this year.

    • richb20806 7 years ago

Haha if guys are as bad at set pieces as us then I see goals. We get a lot of corners and free kicks.

I’d be happy with a point at your place and see 1-1, 2-2 as having legs.

All depends how you guys play it. We’re better away from home as teams tend to come to Molineux to try and stop us playing. I think if you play football then we could open you up but we’re vulnerable at the back as I’ve said.

Key for you is to subdue Neves. If he has space then he will take advantage. Out danger man at the moment is Jota though…. probably our best player.

      Cavaleiro was fantastic Tuesday though.

I’m just gutted I’m working and can’t go.

Heatons a huge loss for us today, he is key in marshalling our backline. I think we will struggle at the back without his leadership qualities while he is out of action. Dont think we will cause your lads too many problems today, your attacking talent just needs to be more prolific in front of goal.

Always pleasing to log on and see that most of the attention is on something I dropped on to 2 days ago. So I have a rolling 4 way acca, 2 have come in already, I’m just waiting on Ipswich and Derby to do the biz.

Ipswich – that’s just a no brainer, they’re playing with home advantage against possibly the worst side in the championship – Bolton. Even money or there abouts with most bookies is setting the bookies up for a mega-slap down if you ask me.

Derby @ 2/1 with betfair. Bristol are playing well and getting some decent points but I’m not convinced they’ll see out the rest of the league on their current form. How on earth can the bookies have Derby @ 2/1 outsiders to win this, knowing our last league match 8 days ago had the rams on fire ( in particular Weimann ) aand slapping a much fancied Hull side chasing a a top 6 place for 5 goals without reply? I’d expected the Rams to make a handful of changes knowing the squad has been trimmed with outgoing loan signings but our match midweek away to Barnsley saw a few surprises. One was the boss again making up the starting 11 with practically a 2nd string side. Shackell – who i’d though had gone out on loan apparently hasn’t, he was in the starting 11, but the biggest surprise was George Thorne. Yep, the big guy is working on his match fitness, he started. The Rams took the lead twice, but ultimately got beat 3-2, a shame, but it is the Mickey Mouse cup and now Barnsley have to face Tottenham in the next match. Derby don’t, we can put our focus just on the league.

My buddy over in Texas has still not been in touch since the bad weather came, he lives west of Dallas – Fort Worth and he’s closer to the bad weather than I first thought. He did promise me a summary on the GGG fight in time tonight, but sadly that has not been the case. If my double comes in, my bank could be around £250. But I am going in anyway for the GGG win. It took just 5 rounds for Kell Brook’s corner to throw the towel in for GGG’s last match – over a fractured eye socket. Brook had been nursing that since the 2nd round. If GGG can do that inside 6 mins of boxing, I think it would be only a fool that would bet against him. His Mexican opponent has had to come up a a few weight divisions, but the Kazakistani fighter has been at this middleweight division – and dominating it since he started boxing – and been undefeated. If my Texan buddy gets in touch beforehand with late thoughts, I will share.

Here was me cra**ing it with Derby sending both Butterfield AND Bryson out on loan, we then put Hull to the sword without them. Weimann has now had 7 shots at goal this season, and scored 5 of them. He’s one goal down on his tally from last season.

Off topic but fight of the year is happening tonight, should be close but for me GGG has slightly plateaued and it’s a great time for Canelo to take this fight and 11/8 is overpriced for me but few a few value bets I like are:

Canelo win by SD @ 7/1
    Canelo win by MD 22/1

This is vegas so the draw at 18/1 can’t be overlooked

Put up my main picks last night but the more I look at Bury’s game, the more I fancy our chances for a couple of goals.

Yes, Clark is under pressure and yes, our league position looks poor but it belies the fact that in the majority of games we’ve actually come a very close hard-fought 2nd rather than being played off the park.

Our 3-2 loss to a flying Fleetwood outfit was the perfect illustration and but for a last-gasp penalty miss it would have been a great point.

We seem to have regained some of last year’s capacity to score – in our last 5 games we have scored a brace against Bristol Rovers, Rotherham and Fleetwood – all more solid outfits than today’s visitors to Gigg – Plymouth Argyle.

Argyle have conceded 10 in their last 4 back to back defeats and we certainly hold the hoodoo over the Pilgrims having won the last 3 H2Hs whilst scoring (you guessed it) a brace of goals!

I’m very rarely confident about Bury – I’ve little reason to be ? – but I think we might just have enough to sink the hopes of the long-travelling Plymouth fans with a couple of goals and if anyones going to get one, my money is on Beckford who is following on from where James Vaughan left off!

    Two bets to consider:

    BURY OVER 1.5 TGS…11/10
    ???

    BECKFORD ATGS…7/5
    ??

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

F*cking Clark ?…totally random line-up and no wonder he’s under pressure – no Beckford and rumour has it he’s not injured.

Still a good chance we’ll hit two but Argyle will probably get 3 ?

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Got what we deserved with that 11 and no Beckford..unreal and Clark doing himself no favours ?

    Derby team news:

So just the 11 changes from the side that twice went ahead midweek away to Barnsley in the Mickey Mouse cup and lost 3-2. Oh well.

It is very much as you were for the rams by reverting back to the starting 11 that dismantled Hull just 8 days ago. I got my names mixed up a tad in my above earlier summary, Yes Weimann is having a stormer, but it is Vydra that is grabbing the headlines in a Derby shirt. He’s the one that has scored 5 goals from just 7 shots this season. His hatrick should of come against Hull with a terrific fingertip save that pushed it maybe an Inch wide of the Hull goal. Every cloud has a silver lining. The follow up attack coming from the resulting defended corner saw us grab another goal.

right to left – formation 4-2-3-1 again

    Carson
    Baird/Keogh/Davis/Olsson
    Huddlestone/Johnston
    Lawrence/Vydra/Weimann
    Nugent

Substitutes: Mitchell, Russell, Martin, Wisdom, Pearce, Winnall, Thorne

Who would of thought that a team that boasted the likes of Bryson/Butterfield/Martin and none of them seem to bee getting a sniff of championship football. Hence Bryson and Butterfield out on loan, and once again, Martin gets to sit on the bench. Why fix something that isn’t broken. Wisdom is back from injury, but Baird is keeping our 1st choice right back on the bench, as is Olsson on the left keeping Forsyth out of the starting 11.
Thorne got his first taste of competitive football in 1 year midweek and I think it is more about getting match fitness/sharpness before we dive in and dump the weight of expectation on his shoulders – but damn, do we miss him at his best. Vydra is relishing his new role behind our front man Nugent – who I begrudgingly have to say, is winning me over slowly. We’re 7 points from the top and a game in hand.

Today could see a few teams above us drop points, and we need to capitalise. Nobody in the league is ” standout ” and I think there are a few teams in that top 6 that will not be there come May next year.

Rather worrying from a Bristol perspective is that we’ve just thumped a much fancied Hull side 5 nil without reply, and Bristols man between the sticks is former Derby and England U21 keeper Frank Fielding. Sadly in a Derby shirt, he never quite hit thee levels that we’d hoped for. Derby have a policy that if a signing/player doesn’t keep up or progress past a level of development, they get rid. Frank Fielding was one of those to go a couple of seasons back.

We’re 2/1 with betfair for a Rams win, the 5 nil last week and 11 changes made in the cup midweek doesn’t make sense to me by the bookies. It is included in my £20 4 way acca. Marseille and Fluminense have already won. Obviously with Bolton being the whipping boys of the league away to a none too shabby Ipswich side more than capable of beating them @ evens with most bookies, could in theory leave me sitting on around £250 to play with when GGG laces up his gloves.

For those nailbiters, Derby double result has to on most acca’s this weekend, but if i’m honest, we’re more than capable of covering a -1 h/c. I shall have a separate £10 on that and Ipswich, might add a few more too.

    Good luck guys.

Ht summary in Bristol V Derby:

Derby had some good possession prior to the penalty. Bristol very much stuck in the starting blocks. Good old Frank Fielding and Derby’s nemesis referee Martin Atkinson combined to deliver the perfect recipe for a spot kick which was duly dispatched in off the underside of the bar.
Derby have been slow to the ball for the last 15 mins and Bristol have had plenty of play and chances to of levelled the score before ht. Huddlestone is struggling to react and if he keeps up his tackling timing, he could struggle to stay on the pitch. Derby’s Johnson took a knock around 15 mis in and that signalled Derby to get George Thorne warming up on the sideline. I would not be surprised though if Derby react and grow back into this game and possibly add, but I do think Thorne could come on in place of Johnson – If he can’t play through the injury OR the manager may play it safe and sub Huddlestone. One thing is certain though, Derby have to control that midfield better and give better support quicker up front if we are to walk away from Bristol with all the spoils.

    Boxing: WBO Middleweight Championship 22:00

Billy Joe Saunders vs Willie Monroe Jr

Willie Monroe Jr win 3/1 Betfair

The sideshow to this morning’s mega fight between Canelo and Golovkin is the clash for the remaining title in the middleweight division. The victor of the fight between WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders and mandatory challenger Willie Monroe Jr will be given a crack at the either Canelo or Golovkin and a chance to become undisputed champion at 160 lbs.

Both fighters bring the southpaw stance to the table but Monroe Jr is definitely the more trickier of the two and can boast sharing a ring with Golovkin in which he enjoyed spells of success. The reason I’m leaning in Monroe Jr’s direction is because I feel BJS is overrated due to his Olympic medal. Yes he did beat a great boxer in Andy Lee for the title but he is not particularly heavy handed and quite a few of his decision victories were by close margins. He has also been very inactive with only one fight last year against Artur Akavov (not ranked in the top 15) and he was awful. Its no secret that in between fights his weight balloons but to be fair to him he has joined trainer Dominic Ingle in Sheffield and some of that belly fat has been shed. I still feel the bookies have got this one wrong.

Monroe Jr defeated respected contender Gabriel Rosado to get into this position by being elusive whilst finding angles to win by a wide unanimous decision. I really expect him to go for it tonight as I think he will know that this single victory will essentially take him to the peak of his boxing career as he would very likely lose the resulting unification fight with Canelo or Golovkin and would want to at least be acknowledged as a world champion before he retires. I can see him forcing the issue against BJS in the latter rounds when he starts to slow down as he usually does and this is where I see the fight being won.

    Good luck all

It’s a fairly skinny card in SA this evening and when games are fin on the ground, it always pays to find a game with a bit of bite…

    PARANÁ VS. LONDRINA (2300 KO):

These two have met 5 times within the last 18 months; both teams to score saw the chequered flag in a cracking 100% of those games and I reckon it has a great chance to become 6 later on this evening.

Parana have netted in all 8 of their last home fixtures and with Londrina scoring 12 times in their last 6 consecutive matches, I’m sweet as hell on the bookies prices here:

    Two selections to consider:
