THERE'S plenty to look at in England tonight with Spurs leading the way at Brighton.

Mauricio Pochettino's men will be looking to bounce back from Saturday's defeat by Man City and stay in the hunt for second against a side who should be safe but aren't quite there now.

Brighton have lost four in a row and Spurs should edge a low scorer but they could rest players ahead of their FA Cup semi-final with Man United so beware.

Elsewhere there are League One, League Two and National League games to consider and I've picked out an English treble.

Accrington were held by promotion hopefuls Exeter at the weekend as they tried to edge closer to the title but should get the job done against a Yeovil side now safe from the drop.

Add Exeter who still have a chance of automatic promotion. They are nicely priced at just over evens at home to basement boys Chesterfield.

In League One Wigan were a letdown last Saturday as they were held 0-0 at home to Rotherham. The title's still in their hands though and should have more joy against an Oxford side they beat 7-0 away in December. Wigan can go three points clear at the top and should bag the victory they need.

There are four games in Scotland and I've posted a separate preview with Dundee United and Inverness looking good for away wins at bottom two Brechin and Dumbarton respectively and Stenny value at Berwick. The Dumbarton v Inverness has been postponed for 24 hours so bets will stand with most bookies.

Elsewhere there are some big games in Europe including Inter v Cagliari in Serie A and Celta Vigo v Barcelona in La Liga. Barca boss Ernesto Valverde has left out Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic ahead of Saturday's cup final with Sevilla.

Well done to all last night's winners including those on bookings at West Ham v Stoke. Andy Carroll's last-minute equaliser made my double a 1pt winner while the Super Single was Marko Arnautovic to score first and he was unlucky with two efforts ruled out for offside when it was 0-0.

And for those interested I'll be starting a new £10 to £1000 challenge today on Twitter after completing one on Sunday.

Can any lower league experts look into Stalybridge Celtic fixture pile up please?

Apparently playing 8 games in 12 days and went into extra time on Monday night

      Playing tonight (17th) also playing on the 19th, 21st, 23rd, 24th, 26th and 28th. All league games. That’s a hell of a schedule and could be ripe for picking. They’re 20th (of 24) and play Ashton (A) 4th position, Matlock (A) 18th position, Coalville (H) 23rd position, Workington (A) 8th position, Witton (H) 7th position, Halesowen (A) 22nd position. That’s all I know.

Similar picture for a shedload of teams from the lower leagues – the rain/snow bit into weeks worth of fixtures hence the congestion.

Stalybridge sits at the arse-end of the Pennines and is a weather trap on the best of days.

    Spurs > 1.5 TGS, Gloucester / Boston > 1.5 MGS 6/5
Eriksen ATGS 9/4 – half stake
Aspas ATGS Vigo BTTS & Overs 2/1 – small stake
Wasn’t impressed with Brighton’s defending at Palace – although should be better at the Amex. Reckon Spurs could get a couple and will chance Eriksen at decent odds who has 5 in his last 6 away games. Add in Gloucester and Boston where stats suggest goals to both see a couple.
As highlighted Barca will be weakened and they don’t like travelling to Vigo who are unbeaten in 8 at home. Will have a small punt on Aspas to net (19 this season) and BTTS & Overs.

    Morning gents,

It was a goalfest with the Icelandic pick and a final scoreline of 8-0 brought in each of the 3 selections – could be a night for goals in the NLN as we hit the sharp end of the season but the one I’m targetting might well be a more tense affair…

NORTH FERRIBY UNITED VS. GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY:

It’s been a shocker of a 2 year spell for North Ferriby after a dizzying climb through the leagues in recent seasons and their capitulation reminds me of Colne Dynamos journey in the early 90s if anyone remembers their story.

By comparison, Trinity have had a better campaign but only just – they sit a place above tonight’s hosts with a narrow window to escape the same fate as Ferriby.

A massive win against York last weekend helped their cause but realistically their poor G/D means they will need a minimum of 5 points from their remaining 3 – their away form has been one of the biggrst barriers with travelling form of W2 D3 L14 and just 11 goals scored compared to the 40 they’ve conceded!

I suppose if they had to pick any team to grab some points off it would probably be North Ferriby but there’s history and plenty of bad blood between these two that are fairly close geographical rivals from the North and South banks of the Humber.

Trinity will be likely fielding around 4 ex-Ferriby players and with the pressure now effectively of the relegated Villagers, they have plenty to prove and head into this with a games rest on their opponents after the Spenny postponement.

North Ferriby have been shy finding the net all season but their impending doom has galvanised the players a little in front of goal and with goals in 4 of their last 6 games and 4 of their last 5 home games, I reckon they are a a good bet too put a few obstacles in Gainsborough’s way.

    Two selections to.consider:

    N FERRIBY TO SCORE…8/13
    ????

    BTTS…4/5
    ???

    Best of luck!

    Morning gents

Busy card today – be focusing on the Scottish games and Seria B

    Berwick v Stenhousemuir KO 7.45

The visitors have propelled themselves into the play off places and are in pole position to finish 3rd having played two games less. They face a Berwick team who are on a horrible horrible run at the moment. One win in their last 18 games but luckily for them Rock bottom Cowdenbeath can’t catch them. Momentum and need is with Stenny and they should ensure they maintain their play off push against a side who’s who’ll be looking forward to the end of the season

They were 5/6 last night when I first looked at this by have shorten since then

    Back Stenhousmuir 3/4 (Ladbrokes) (NAP)

    ****************************

    ????????????????????????
    ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

Full Card in Seria B tonight – one match i really like the look of for goals and a few Skybet specials

    Ternana v Foggia KO 7.30pm

These two have differing objectives with Ternana fighting to escape relegation and Foggia battling to get into the play off positions. Both come into this in fine form and plenty of goals scored. Foggia have seen 11 of their last 13 matches in Seriba B go over 2.5 goals and given 8 of the last 9 meetings between the sides ended with both sides scoring we should see an open game here. No value on over 2.5 so going with goals and both sides scoring in what is a must win for both teams

Back over 2.5 goals & BTTS 10/11 (Skybet)

Skybet specials – all 10 matches

Goal in the first half 66/1
    Ober 1.5 match goals 30/1
    26+ goals 6/5

Mr F has mentioned this in his Scottish tips but felt it was worth repeating here as I’ve heard St Mirren are now likely to make 8 or 9 changes tonight. They’ve been on the sauce since Saturday.

Falkirk aren’t mathematically safe yet and could be worth an interest not to lose at 5/6

    • Avatar of Mr Fixit
      Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I reckon backing Falkirk at small stakes could be worth the while.
Saints will definitely be weakened so it’s down to how Falkirk perform.

Greg, mr F what do you class as small stakes ?. I appreciate ppl work on a points system and stakes are relative to each person. I’m happy to share the value of my points but obviously won’t if it’s not you prefer me not to. Always interests me and I do use the points to gauge the confidence in the bet for you mr f.

    • Avatar of Mr Fixit

There’s no point in giving the value of your points because everyone’s situation is different.

evening everyone, been flat out this past few days helping a friend prepare for his wedding, POOR sod LOL

only 2 bets from me tonight and its a NIGHT OWL

Been following Brazilian team GREMIO for a long time now and they have impressed me a lot and i have done them in this COPA LIBERTADORES and they have won at silly prices just like they did at weekend and were 7/2 various in the first BRAZIL serie A game of the year away to cruzeiro where they won 0-1

i fancy them to beat this Paraguayan side and goal are keenly priced at 2.5 goals at 8/5 and 1.5 goals at 1/2

ill however stick to the gremio to win market at 6/4 NAP £100
then ill take NB at gremio-1 at 4/1 too big my opinion £50

usually only do £50 but im doing both tonight as gremio have won me money before and ill stick with them

Home side only beaten once in the previous 15 league games they’ve hosted, up against a team fighting relegation, and the visitors starting with 7 players who had appeared for them 24 hours prior, in a cup game that went to extra-time.

Mourinho has already mentioned he’ll ring the changes for our trip down south, and I don’t think our performances will get any better over the next few weeks. To make changes against a side like Bournemouth is only asking for trouble. They had scored in their last 14 premier league fixtures prior to their 3-0 loss against Liverpool, scoring 2+ in 7 of their last 8 at home. I can see goals here with a possible weakened United side (it won’t be too weak with Liverpool and Tottenham breathing down our necks).
