THERE'S a big Tuesday card with loads of games to look at in England and Scotland as well as two Champions League quarter-finals.

I've posted a separate preview on Man City v Liverpool and Roma v Barcelona with both away sides arriving with a three-goal lead and unlikely to be overhauled.

In England Fulham can continue their pursuit of Cardiff with a home win against Reading while the Welsh have a tougher test at Aston Villa. Brentford look a good shout at Nottm Forest and Birmingham can avoid defeat at Bristol City at a big price.

Millwall are one of the form teams of the Championship and will boost their play-offs if they can win at Bolton who are just above the drop zone.

There are also games in League One and League Two and I'll added other tips to the Scottish treble I put up last night.

I reckon St Mirren will clinch the Championship crown in fine style by winning at Dundee United. They are 6-4 at McBookie but on a Scots treble take them not to lose.

I also like Morton at 8-15 with Black Type at home to Dumbarton with victory edging them ahead of Dundee United and into fourth if they don't beat Saints.

Montrose notched a superb 5-0 weekend win at Stirling and will go three points clear of Peterhead with another at Cowdenbeath. Their Fife hosts may be bottom but they've improved in recent weeks to close the gap on the teams above them to seven points.

Cowdenbeath beat Clyde at the weekend but Montrose are in good form and have lost just twice on the road this season.

For a Super Single I'm on Birmingham draw no bet at Bristol City. I went confident against City at the weekend and there seems no sign of a revival that would put them back in the play-offs.

There last two displays against Brentford and Millwall were woeful and they've won just three in 20. Birmingham have won three of their last four and haven't conceded a goal in four visits to Ashton Gate – winning three and drawing one.

For the Top Treble take Fulham to score 2+ at home to Reading. The Cottagers could move above Cardiff into second tonight on the back of an incredible run. Fulham have netted 2+ in four of five at home to the Royals.

Add Cardiff not to lose at Aston Villa. Neil Warnock was raging after his side missed two injury-time penalties and he'll be desperate for his men to make amends at Villa Park.

Villa should be okay for the play-offs but their form has dipped with three defeats and a draw in their last five. Cardiff should at least avoid losing here.

Millwall are one of the form sides of the division and look as if they'll sneak into the play-offs. They face a test at a Bolton side fighting for their lives but again I'm taking the Lions not to lose after a run of five wins in six.

Bolton have lost three in a row but only one was at home and it was a narrow 1-0 defeat against Birmingham.

My double yesterday was beaten by Fortuna Sittard drawing at RKC and Jordan needed another goal from them.

Well done to all the winners including Scott with his members bet and Shortee with a Top Oss to score at an incredible price of 5-6.

Bag is packed and looking forward to my trip to the etihad tomorrow
My visit last season i witnessed a cracker against Monaco, i hope something similar is in store this time round.

I’ll look at the betting on the train journey down in the morning, of course with a few refreshments.

Morning all, can’t wait for game tonight 2 bets for me today Salah atgs 6/4 main bet & 11/2 first goalscorer, he will get a chance no doubt will he take it? Other thought if Liverpool get a goal City will need to score 5 so goals market will be very interesting in play. GL ?

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Looks a good shout jimba.I don’t know if anyone’s noticed but tonights vistors tend to score in quick bursts,if we go back to the 5-0 defeat at the beginning of the season at the Emptihad when Mane was wrongly sent off Liverpool could have quite easily had 3 or 4 goals in the first 15 mins, whats different to then and now??well now Salah has become a better finisher and his all round game has improved vastly and the team has Improved not only scoring lots of goals but keeping clean sheets also,Man City failed to register a single attempt on goal in the first leg,i’m sure they will have a few attempts tonight but so will the visitors who have a great away record in this competition,it’s also worth noting that this is not Premier League football and it’s wise not to get European and premier league mixed up!!

    Rochdale v Wigan btts +2.5 9/5 NAP

2 teams that are fighting for different reasons. Rochdale for survival and Wigan for the title.
Rochdale have hit a bit of form in recent games with just 1 defeat in 6 and have scored 3-2-3 in their last 3 games.
You have to go back to Sept. for the last time Wigan failed to score in an away game and with so much at stake I’d be very surprised if this isn’t a high scoring game and think the bookies have this priced wrong.

    Citeh v pool

    Goal before 25mins 4/5

Everyone predicting a high scoring game here and while I don’t disagree if that’s the case then surely it needs an early goal but don’t know who will get it.

  12. leroy 6 years ago

Plenty to look at tonight. First, the big one.

    Man City v Liverpool

Obviously you’ve got to be looking at goals here, but an interesting market move has caught my eye. Yesterday, you were looking at a best price 4/6 for BTTS and Overs to land in the game. Overnight, this has drifted rather noticeably, with 4/5 at least available, but Sky going as big as 10/11.

I did wonder if the bookies had got a sniff that Salah wouldn’t be fit, otherwise I couldn’t understand the drift in price. However, a certain Twitter account that has repeatedly leaked correct Liverpool line-ups of late is reporting that Salah is starting, so that’s given me all the nudge I need.

BTTS and O2.5 Match Goals @ 10/11 (SkyBet)

Another price that looks pretty generous is Liverpool’s goal time. I agree with Macca that they are fast starters. In all three meetings this season, they’ve blown City away early doors with varying success. The only problem is they didn’t capitalise on plenty of chances before Mane’s red in the 5-0 defeat, but some of the chances Salah got that day… you’d fancy him to bury now.

Either way City will have to come forward, and come forward early. Liverpool should be looking to settle any jitters by grabbing that away goal as early as possible. Bet365 offering over an hour – I think that’s value.

    Half Stake:

    Liverpool To Score Before 67:00 @ 5/6 (Bet365)
    _________________________________________

Lastly, if he IS fit. I can’t imagine why he is available at this price given his exploits this season.

    Third Stake:

Mohammed Salah Anytime Goalscorer @ 2/1 (Unibet)
    _____________________________________________

Will look at the rest of the card now.

    • leroy 6 years ago

Big clash in the NLN tonight. Kidderminster and Stockport both still need points to preserve their playoff places with Spennymoor sniffing around with 3 games in hand and Chorley just 3 and 4 points adrift should they win their game in hand.

This meeting between 4th and 5th sees both sides come into the game in goalscoring form. They have scored 26 goals between them across their last 5 games, but neither have kept a clean sheet in their last 3. Earlier meetings this season saw a 2-1 away win in the league for Kiddy, before a 2-2 FA Trophy draw – Stockport won the second leg on their own patch 3-0 just 3 days later.

Prices are on the bigger side than expected. I’ll take the BTTS on offer, even if it is a little short.

      BTTS @ 7/10 (Marathon)
      _____________________

      Third Stake:

      Kidderminster v Stockport
      Torquay v AFC Fylde
      Welling v Hemel Hempstead
      Burgess Hill v Enfield Town

Felda United BTTS & win 15/8

Post all you like – people have to understand you’re a fan and you’re biased.
However, you were pretty much spot on first time around.
The guy moaning should put up tips instead of rants.
I can’t see City overhauling 3-0 because I’m sure Liverpool will score.
From a neutral points of view I’d like to see City score first and lead at HT but for Liverpool to go through.
Most Scots of my age prefer Liverpool to City because you always had top Scots in your team back in the day.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

We have a top Scot now mr F one of the buys of the season, hopefully he’s a good omen.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Indeed you do – Robertson looks a class act.
Only problem for Scotland is we have two cracking left-backs – pity Tierney wasn’t a right-back.

Mrf, read recently Celtic let Robertson go?

    • oz777 6 years ago

Like Paul, I’m a Bankie who grew up watching Liverpool from the early 70s, and they became my second team.
Myself and a handful of mates regularly headed to Anfield to watch them play, sometimes 6 or 7 times a season.
A mate of ours worked in Liverpool for a few years, and was actually dating a girl who worked in the offices, which meant an endless supply of complimentary tickets.
To this day we have never forgiven him for chucking her for another woman…?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

That’s brilliant. I ended up having more of a soft spot for Newcastle.
My neighbour in Old Kilpatrick was a Geordie and a season ticket holder and his dad worked at the club so could get tickets for any game.
Went to some belters including Big Dunc’s hat-trick against Man United – thing was I never saw Newcastle lose and my neighbour never saw Bankies lose when I dragged him along.

    • oz777 6 years ago

When myself, Jammy and other mates travelled to games Paul, we would throw a couple of quid each on a first goalscorer/correct score double.
So, one time we went to Anfield for Liverpool v Aston Villa, and as Neil Ruddock had a habit of getting the occasional goal, we decided on the centre-half and 3-1 Liverpool.
The odds were something like 35-40/1.
The big man duly obliges early on, Villa equalise, then Robbie Fowler scores a brace.
Anyway, last minute of the game, both teams just running the clock down, and Villa play a long ball over the top.
That big galoot David James comes running out, sklaffs his clearance, and from around the halfway line, Steve Staunton lobs the ball into an empty net.
Liverpool take the kick off and the ref blows the final whistle.
Never been so gutted in my life, and to this day I still hate that big eejit…?

I think we may have an inkling Macca’s a fan Mr F, not only is it entertaining but if you read the posts properly the tips are there. Macca has been saying all along to go for goals not result, you could take that as bias or advice it’s up to the individual. (personally I don’t think it will be a goal fest as predicted so am staying away from it although Shortee may have the answer).

    • shortee 6 years ago

hope so @old-al. i dont care if liverpool score 5 or if city score 5 as long as i get my 1, value is there and we will just have to wait and see lads, no point clogging up thread about liverpool etc, macca, myself and others have put up our tips and people are welcome to follow away and lets just hope i nail it again.

      goodluck all

    • shortee 6 years ago

      i have answered ….. :D

    • richb20806 6 years ago

I always follow your tips to be fair and totally agree that goals are the way to go. Ultimately citeh have to attack you from the off and that leaves you space to counter them. Possibly see on a citeh win but not a market I’ll touch tonight. Btts over 2.5, BTTS over 3.5, BTTS both halves for 10/1 which I think stands a chance tonight.

My early tip for my lot against derby tomorrow night is BTTS at even and BTTS and Overs at 13/8. Very generous odds and highly likely.

  15. radu 6 years ago

    Afternoon all,

going with this double today, again 4/9 for MAN CITY no clean sheet is value for me with 365 and i can see liverpool at least scoring and makes sense as everyone tipping goals and both to score anyway, 1 goal will do me

agree with MR F on st mirren and they are a great price tonight and have won me money before on paper bets on a saturday as single to win, ill take the plus 1 handicap at 1/2 for extra security

    My NAP today is:

Liverpool to score a goal (man city CLEAN SHEET NO) 4/9
St Mirren plus 1 handicap 1/2

    1.16/1 £50 pays £108.33

goodluck all and *health is your wealth*

    • old al 6 years ago

Just a query – isn’t +1 on the handicap exactly the same as a double chance?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

      Yes it’s exactly the same.
Many markets are the same but worded differently – for example teams to score 2+ or team to score over 1.5 goals.
Teams to score or opponent not to have a clean sheet.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

      Looks a good double.

Notice spurs and harry kane are appealing the goal that was awarded to eriksen at the weekend. He scores plenty you wouldnt think he’d be so desperate! Was anyone on Kane and if so did the bookie pay out?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Bookies had to pay out on Eriksen as he is the official scorer.
That won’t change if Kane is awarded the goal – bookies can’t take the Eriksen money back and give it Kane followers.
If anyone did it would be purely as a goodwill gesture.

    UEFA Champions League 19:45

    4-Fold 10.53/1 Bet365 **NB**

Dont often go with singles for the NAP but today I’m going ham, egg and chips on City to get over 4 corners in the second half at the Etihad. I’ve taken a keen interest in corner kicks over the last two years – especially how and when they are awarded and whilst you can never be 100% certain of a bet coming in I just can’t see any other scenario tonight.

Man City racked up 5 corner kicks in the second half at Anfield last week despite all the hostilities that it brought Tonight it goes without saying that the urgency from City will be amped up ten-fold and most of that pressure should show its face in the second half where its literally a case of them having to do something or face elimination. City will be stretching Liverpool, getting in behind, forcing deflections as well as goalkeeper saves and these will increment the corner count. I’d expect the last ten minutes to be paticularly manic as it will likely be wave after wave of attack. The over 5 second half City corners line at 11/5 also stands a chance given the circumstances of tonight but I’ll be sticking to over 4 and going all out with 20 pts.

    Good luck all

  25. evens knievens 6 years ago

Looking forward to watching City v Pool tonight and hoping for an exciting game.

Know Guardiola’s Barca team were always good at conning the ref into sending an opponent off and baring in mind How Liverpool capitulated with 10 men earlier in the season, we could see some amateur dramatics tonight.

One earlier game to point out is in Germany Regionela Bayern. Schalding V Illertisson. Two teams evenly matched in the table and yet the away side won the reverse fixture 7-1.

Don’t know about you guys but if my team beat someone 7-1 I would be looking forward to playing them again.

Illertisson are 2/1 for the win. Or 6/5 over 2 team goals.

Incidentally form doesn’t particularly point to any reason for backing the home side but by all means use due diligence.

    Good luck.

First post, not a tip (some great tipsters here tho), but a couple of comments.

Firtsly, on the macca debate, he gets some unwarranted stick from some (again today I see), for his liverpool battering all before them (or being in goalfests) type-comments/tips, but fair play to him with his ballsy gallus swaggering confidence – he’s been proved more right than wrong, particularly of late, and some of the comments he has been on end of from some, is out of order (but mrF/admin soon nip that in bud, so credit to them too). Jealous haters are often losers too, so unsurprising really these types rant at macca.

MrF said to macca a bit back “people have to understand you’re a fan and you’re biased.”, and while that’s true macca is also coming from a position of strength and confidence in a team and a manager who play in such a style that invites goals (often at both ends). The firepower, speed, players liverpool (and yes, man city too) have at their disposal means their games are often a joy to watch. So while macca is coming from a biased angle, it must be great to be able to crow with confidence in your own team – don’t we all wish our own teams could be goalmachines and thus give us financial joy as well as emotional?

And on that note, spare a thought for my team – outwith brechin, i think we’re currently the worst team (on multiple fronts) statistically in the top 8 leagues (scotland and england combined).

And today, the sad news has come of the passing of a true Legend and Partick Thistle great. A huge character, one every player and fan who came across him will have countless memories of, and stories to tell of the great man. The type of manager potentially now of a bygone era, but without doubt he was massively entertaining and much loved by all (well, apart from that Falkirk fan who tried to run him off the motorway once). and who will forever be a man truly deserving of the word LEGEND when it comes to Partick Thistle.

Tonight everyone should have big cigar and a fair few drams – it’s the Lambie way.

RIP John – you will be sorely missed.

    All together now……….

JOHNNY LAMBIES RED N YELLA ARMY
    (repeat for 90 minutes)

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Sad to hear about Lambie – one of Scotland’s greatest characters over the past few decades.
On Brechin I believe they’re trying to beat Clydebank’s total of 10 points which was the lowest in the second ties a few years back when we were in crisis.
Come and the join the juniors – it’s a good laugh.

    • boabee8867 6 years ago

i think the term ” haters ” as ive seen many a time is a bit strong….i,m from the camp of …if you praise yourself . your team or any personal achievements you may have done…then surely you must be open to a bit of response when things don,t go according to plan….take the rough with the smooth an aww that…….More importantly …tragic news about John Lambie…….btw….did he personally compose the infamous chant of …” Theres only 1 team in Glasgow….only 1 team in Glasgow…….classic stuff!!!!!

    • firhillthrill 6 years ago

@mrfixit no chance brechin are going to win 2 games, be lucky if they get 2 points in their final four, so the bankies can finally lose that unwanted place in record books.
can well believe the juniors is more of a laugh than what the professional outfit of maryhill is serving up these days.

5-0 to City at home earlier this season and it could have been 10. Ok Liverpool had a man sent off but I can see City winning this comfortably if Aguero plays. City -2 AH @2.9 bet365.

  32. Jordan 6 years ago

Big card but a little game in the NVL for me. Bognor Regis are the worst team across Europe today and the visitors have been playing well in their playoff push despite a shocking 3-0 defeat against second from bottom-Whitehawk at home.

I’d stay off the WDW just incase but they should be good for a couple of goals. Regis have conceded 2+ at home in 9 of their last 12.

    St Alban’s Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 8/11 @ 365 – 2.75 points

Surprised at Liverpools goal time of 68:00 tonight. City will have to push from the get go and will always be left open on the counter (see first leg for confirmation). If I was heading to the Etihad with a 3-0 lead, I know I’d be pushing for that 1 away goal to essentially end it unless a miracle.

    Liverpool Goal Before 68:00 @ 5/6 @ 365 – 3 points

Be weary of backing a Millwall win this evening. They’ve lost 10 of their last 11 at Bolton and haven’t won there since 1974. Bolton +1 pays 17/20 and I’ll be on this.

@firhillthrill welcome mate – never did I think I’d see the day that we’d have a Thistle fan contributing, haha. I jest as as I’ve had many good Twitter discussions with your fellow fans

Sad news about Lambie – A legend by all accounts.

    • firhillthrill 6 years ago

cheers @gregbrowning for your and Pauls welcome. Hope to contribute favourably!!!
Truly sad news about the great Lambini – assume you’ve seen the piece of the SJFC site about him, seems he was a mainstay of Willie Ormonds legendary teams 69-73, and was very well regarded at Muirton (as it was back then).

  39. GregBrowning 6 years ago

    Afternoon gents

Apologies, Posted today’s tips this morning but only getting round to posting a writhe up.

    Man city / Hearts double

I don’t think city will qualify but I do expect them at home to win the tie. When Liverpool are in full swing they are terrific to watch, I think it needs to be remembered though they are travelling away to a team who are the best team in the legaue they play in. It’s going to be a real game of chess this match as a Liverpool goal ends the tie and it would be no surprise to see them net. Just feel with Home advantage City will be good enough to win especially given Liverpool don’t need to win the tie

The young Hearts team are in great shape at the moment especially at the Orium indoor stadium where they are disposing of teams with ease and they face a young St Johnstone side who struggle in the road shipping plenty of goals. Comfortable Jambos win

    Sunderland v Norwich

Really suprised when I saw the price for goals in this game. Sunderland are in must win territory and can’t afford to lose this one. Norwich will be full of confidance after dishing out a 4-1 Hammering to Villa at the weekend. Can see an open game here with both sides scoring

    Berwick v Stenhousmuir

Was torn between the Stenhousemuir win and and goals but opted for the later. Stenny are in the hunt for the play offs and need another win here. Berwick usually score at home

    • oz777 6 years ago

That’s the comfortable Jambos win oot the windae @gregbrowning ?
Keep telling myself to stay away from kid’s and women’s fitbaw, and everytime I don’t listen to myself.

  45. jjy1992 6 years ago

city v liverpool is a bit of a strange one to predict ….city can’t go all guns blazing from the word go because they know liverpool can effectively end the tie with one counter attack

i suspect this game is going to be tighter than most imagine and seeing the bookies boosting goals left right and centre gives me even more confidence this will be more a more conservative contest than most think

    Chuffed with that result tonight!

But got my eye on a nice little night owl…

    Heading to Peru for a 2am pick…
    Deportivo Muncipal vs Union Comercio

Backing deportivo goals here and should atleast get my stake back but hoping to double my money!

    Deportivo Muncipal 2+ team goals
    £28 pays £44

    Deportivo Muncipal 3+ team goals
    £16 pays £44

    • redmanjft96 6 years ago

6th vs 8th tie here but deportivo are quite a consistent outfit on their home ground…

Last 4 homes games they’ve scored 3,3,2,3, union comercio are also not the best on away soil and concede quite regularly away from home, they have lost their last 6 away from home and conceded 3,5,1,1,3,2 in those games

Deportivo will see this as the perfect chance to get 3 points on the board and close the gap with top of the table after only 10 games gone
