Mr Fixit’s Top Tips: Gunners to bounce back v BATE

Schalke v Man City was an all-action affair with 10-man City virtually booking their last-eight slot with two late strikes in a 3-2 win.

North of the border Rangers v Kilmarnock was enthralling for different reasons. My Super Single was a red card in the match and just 25 minutes in Killie keeper Daniel Bachmann was harshly handed one for catching Glenn Kamara at a corner.

Penalties are under the spotlight in Scotland after a series of disputed decisions recently and it's worth playing on reds and penalties in big games.

On my Man City preview I tipped Sergio Aguero to score first at 31-10 and any time and also tipped Alfredo Moreles to score on my Rangers preview. In the Daily Record my advised double was Aguero and Morelos to score at any time but only advised them as singles on here.

Morelos' four goals took his tally to 27 this season and his value up to around £40million according to craneguy. A Scottish Premiership player will never command that sort of fee but the more he scores the less chance Rangers have of keeping the Colombian international in the summer.

Anyone thinking of lumping on him and Rangers at the weekend though should forget it – he completes the final match of his ban at Hamilton and Steven Gerrard will be holding out for another hero.

On Thursday it's the turn of the Europa League and some big games and plenty of ties in the balance.

Regarding the British sides Arsenal should overturn a 1-0 deficit and beat BATE by at least two when they visit the Emirates. Chelsea lead 2-1 from Sweden and Mauricio Sarri will be desperate for a good result and another on Sunday that might buy him some time. Shouldn't have too many worries here but wouldn't surprise me if Malmo didn't score.

Celtic are basically out after losing 2-0 at home to Valencia so it's a lot about whether Brendan Rodgers's men can gain some pride and if they score at least that will be something to shout about. Elsewhere one of the tournament favourites Salzburg, whose league is still in winter shutdown, face a similar scenario to Arsenal as they trail Bruges 2-1. The Austrians are good enough to win through but face a tougher test than the Gunners.

Going with Arsenal and Salzburg to qualify as a Super Single at 7-5 with Betfred and my only other bet is a treble. I agree with Greg about goals at Eintracht v Shakhtar Donetsk and adding wins for Benfica and Real Betis.

Benfica beat Galatasaray 2-1 away and will be looking for a convincing seventh win in row back in Lisbon. Rennes missed a chance when they led Betis 3-1 at home and having been pegged back to 3-3 should pay the penalty on the road.
