BURNLEY'S scrambled win at Cardiff meant I finished the month on a high and 58 points up on the top tips.
The Super Singles have been on a good run and Burnley gave me a 21.7pts profit over the past eight days.
My two accas were losers yesterday but I finished 36.3pts up thanks mainly to two moneyback fivefolds. The members bet won though at 12-5 for a second 5pts profit in two days and the Super Single on the Ryder Cup won as Jon Rahm beat Tiger Woods as Europe completed a remarkably easy victory.
Hopefully October will produce more of the same but we have an international break and I'll also be on holiday for a week from Sunday so Scott Allot will be taking over for a spell.
Well done to all the winners last night and good luck on Monday. Not too much on Monday but we have Bournemouth v Crystal Palace, Sampdoria v SPAL, Celta Vigo v Getafe and Utrecht v MVV.

I have been looking for the best bets for the 2018-19 football season north and south of the border
Starting south of the border and League 2 i have to pick MANSFIELD,
I never pay much attention to pre-season friendlies but Mansfield have looked good, a 1-0 loss to Vitoria Setubal was followed by 3-0 win at Bradford PA, 3-1 win against Derby County, 0-0 draw against Sheffield Utd, 2-1 win against Sheffield Wed and 2-1 win against Rotherham Utd
Mansfield Town were one of the favourites last season and finished seventh, they lost their manager and after a difficult start for the new manager David Flitcroft Mansfield finished the season strongly,
Against Rotherham I was really impressed with the defending of Mansfield, the back three and goalkeeper “a certain Conrad Logan” were outstanding and going forward Mansfield will be looking at Danny Rose to bag a few goals
In League One I am going for my home town Barnsley, with Sunderland and Charlton also there it won’t be easy but I think Barnsley will get promoted, they have been pretty quiet in the transfer market and I think they will be disappointed not to have persuaded Stevie Mallan to stay on, I am hoping Tom Bradshaw stays at the club for this season as he will score goals, during pre-season Barnsley have been quick out the blocks at the start and against Hull they scored after just two minutes and it was new signing Kenny Dougall that scored a 20 yarder, Dougall signed from Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam and is a defensive midfielder but can also play as a central defender but it’s keeping players that is vital to Barnsley with multiple bids coming in for forwards Kieffer Moore and Tom Bradshaw and midfielder Brad Potts

In the Championship I like an outsider to do well, I really like Ayr Utd, my only worry is they have a small squad so injuries could be their downfall but if they can keep the injuries down they look a serious threat and they also have a player I have been raving about for a while in Lawrence Shankland and it’s vital that Ayr keep him

AFTER relegation from Ligue 1, Troyes look like they are finally starting to find their feet and look massively overpriced to win at home

It’s been a rude awakening or this Troyes side as they have really struggled to adapt to life in Ligue 2. After an opening day win, they went on a run of 5 straight league defeats. You could argue they played some teams on top of their game in that winless run but since the international break, they beat a good Niort side and claimed a creditable 1-1 away at Le-Havre so I’m really surprised to see them priced up as big as 17/10, especially against a struggling side like Auxerre
The visitors are on the same number of points as Troyes but there couldn’t be a bigger contrast in form – no win in 4 league games (3 defeats and a draw) and no goals scored. There’s no way Troyes should be 17/10 to win this against a side who are clearly in a bad place at the moment, losing matches and zero threat going forward

Nothing for me tonight as instead I launch an ambitious (and admittedly risky) assault on the Tuesday and Wednesday card. Couple of shorter priced selections in the mix here that I’d usually be hesitant to post, but I’m going with my gut in an attempt to start October on the front foot. That means 4 full stake efforts across the two days, and with a lot of eggs in the same baskets, it basically equates to ‘bigger’ stakes.

As Greg B has posted on a number of occasions, most games in this league ( following on from the U21 development league from previous seasons) have goals in them; 4 and 5-1s as well as 2-2s, 3-2s occur fairly regular, and now the teams draw on experienced squad players that are on fringes of first teams as well as youth.
Both Hearts and Hibs are around mid tablish but have only played 3 matches ; Hibs 7th and Hearts 13th out of 18. Both teams are averaging just over 4 match goals when involved.
Hearts team announced have 6 with first team experience (No Sean Clare yet) but even without having seen the Hibs team I expect goals, and Hearts have dropped from 13/8 to 4/6.

I think everyone has seen Man Utd perform the last few games and to say there is a crisis at the club is putting it mildly.I was watching sky sports this morning and they gave one specific stat that is startling for a supposedly top club,Man Utd players have ran the second least amount of Kilometres in the Premier league,only Cardiff City have ran less and they sit bottom,Liverpool ran the most and sit top so that stat in itself should tell you where United are at right now(in trouble).They now face a well organised Valencia side who aren’t sitting pretty in their domestic league but have still only lost one game and drew the other 5,i expect a tight game and if things haven’t changed for United might even take the away side to win inplay.
