Top Football Tips

AFTER a miserable May my two main bets won on Saturday but the others were losers.

Cove were my Super Single at 10-11 and they won 3-0 at Berwick for a 7-0 aggregate success that earned them a place in the SPFL for the first time.

It was clear from the first leg there was a huge gulf between the teams and I should have taken them -1 as the Super Single back then. However, my knowledge of Highland League football isn't extensive although I do know Berwick are rubbish.

Watched the highlights of the first leg and from what I saw Cove will be pushing for promotion from League Two next season.

My Top Treble won at 18-5 thanks to St Mirren as well as Hamilton +1 and Espanyol +1 so maybe I should have been braver as they all notched straight wins.

I was disappointed with the goals trebles, especially the German one which was beaten by Borussia M'gladbach. I expected a load of goals on the final day of the Bundesliga and Gladbach were one of only three teams not to score with Wolfsburg top scorers with eight.

Bayern Munich duly wrapped up the title with a crushing 5-1 win at home to Eintracht Frankfurt and I tipped Bayern and both to score.

The moneyback fivefold was looking good until Getafe conceded a late equaliser at home to Villarreal as Valencia clinched the fourth Champions League place in La Liga.

Well done to all the winners including Greg, HullShaker and macca with his FA Cup Final goals shout.

The focus on Sunday is on the Scottish Premiership and Serie A with other games dotted about the Continent.

Kilmarnock and Aberdeen are fighting it out for a Europa League spot although both will make it in if Celtic as expected beat Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final next Saturday.

Killie face the tougher test at home to a Rangers side trying to end the season with seven successive wins.

The sides have met six times this season with Rangers winning three and drawing twice and I can see another stalemate in what is likely to be Steve Clarke's last game in charge of a club he has reinvented before taking charge of Scotland.

Killie are 10-3 with bet365 and to claim the win that will clinch third spot while Gers are 10-11 at McBookie with the draw 5-2.

Hopefully it's a good contest with a few goals and I fancy a score draw at 4-1 with BetVictor. Kevinmac has posted a full Killie vs Rangers preview.

Aberdeen haven't lost to Hibs this season – two wins and two draws – and I like their chances at 13-10 with Unibet against a side likely to have their feet off the gas.

The other game is a cup final rehearsal between Celtic and Hearts but teams tomorrow will much different from next Saturday with many stars rested. This is one game where bets shouldn't be placed until line-ups are revealed. SlipsTips has posted a Celtic vs Hearts preview.

In Italy Inter, Atalanta, Milan and Roma are fighting for two Champions League places. Atalanta head to champions Juventus and Inter are at runners-up Napoli. Difficult games but against sides with nothing to play for.

Milan have the easiest task at home to relegated Frosinone while Roma slipped up by being held 0-0 at Sassuolo last night.

Empoli v Torino and Parma v Fiorentina and are the big games at the wrong end of the table.

For a Top Treble I'm taking a chance on Aberdeen, boosted by the news boss Derek McInnes is staying, picking up the points that could see them finish third.

Add Orient to win the FA Trophy and make it a double after topping the National League. While Orient can celebrate their return to the big time, Fylde will still be licking their wounds after losing the play-off final 3-0 to Salford. In the regular season Orient won both meetings by two goals and while they should win again in 90 minutes I'm playing safer and backing them to lift the trophy.

HullShaker knows Fylde well and is also backing against them. Check out his tips and preview here.

Complete the treble with Barcelona at Eibar. It's a risky one because of course they've won the title but will want to finish with a win unlike Real Madrid earlier. Barca may have won the double but there are still critics after the way they exited the Champions League at Liverpool and manager Ernesto Valverde needs all the goodwill he can get.

Momentum certainly with Rangers at the moment and I might take them
to edge this at just under evens.

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

On form they should win but big day for Killie – chance to seal a Europa League place and Steve Clarke’s last game as manager before taking over Scotland. Good appointment in my book.

    • GregBrowning 5 years ago

Definitely the fans choice – won’t be too many people unhappy with the appointment ( unless you are a Killie fan or a section of the Rangers support ) 😂

Delighted he’s leaving Killie, only way for them is backwards.

In case I don’t get this up early tomorrow morning

    🇪🇪 Parnu back in action ⚽️ 🇪🇪

Parnu JK Vaprus vs JK Tarvas 11am

This looks like another miss match and similar to the lastParnu match I posted last week.

Tarvas are struggling at the bottom end of the table having conceded 27 goal so far from their 10 games.

They lost 8-0 away at Flora II, a side Parnu drew 0-0 with and they lost 2-0 at Tammeka, a side Parnu hammered 4-1

Parnu’s home form has been terrific with 5 wins from 5, scoring 16 goals in the process. Tarvas have already lost 6-0 and 8-0 on the road and Parnu should win this comfortably

No markets up yet but will be looking at:

    Parnu ht/ft
    Over 1.5 first half goals
    Over 4.5 match goals

    • grant37 5 years ago

      Some prices up at Skybet…

Boxing: WBC World Heavyweight Title 04:00

    Deontay Wilder vs Dominic Breazeale

under 7.5 total rounds 20/23 Boylesports **LARGE STAKE**

Was initially looking at playing a big stake on Wilder win by KO at 1/3 but I see better value in going under 8 rounds. Both boxers are very heavy punchers and could each potentially end the fight with a single shot but I see Wilder ending the proceedings early as he’ll know that comparisons will be made with how Joshua fared against him. Breazeale quite often gets hurt early in fights and his guard is not that particularly hard to penetrate. He was floored in round 3 by Mansour, floored by Ugonoh in round 4 and badly buzzed by Joshua in the second. Pound for pound Wilder is quite possibly the hardest puncher in the sport of boxing and I feel if he cracks Breazeale flush with the right hand, which is extremely likely, its curtains. He’ll have more than enough time to find his range within 7 rounds to find that one perfect shot. Alternatively it could be Breazeale laying out Wilder with one perfect punch but I dont see the fight going the distance and not beyond 7 rounds.

    Good luck all

    • bullseye 5 years ago

WON 💰💰 Jab right hand & Breazeale is out before he hits the canvas in round 1!

    • drogers 5 years ago

Excellent Mr Bullseye. I had the KO WIN in acca last leg and Joyce vs Ustinov not to go distance.
A good weekend for the bets.

I didn’t see your tip otherwise I would have jumped on with a bit more confidence as well.

      Well done.

      Rogers over.

    • bullseye 5 years ago

Cheers drodgers mate, nice one on the Joyce vs Ustinov bet. If I was Eddie Hearn I’d be doing my absolute best to stall the a between AJ and Wilder. Wilder really does possess some freakish one punch power, the like that has never been seen in the heavyweight division previously.

Morning folks should be a fantastic A-League grand final this morning with both teams in great goal scoring form. I kind of fancy Perth to become champions for the first time in their history but it’s difficult to rule out Sydney with their winning pedigree.

    My bets are as follows;

    Perth most booking points 11/8
    Perth score 1st half 11/10
    BTTS score & overs 7/5

    Good luck

    Celtic vs Hearts

I expect this game do me no different, a fiery encounter and with Craig Thomson as the ref the likelihood of plenty of cards. I’ve picked out two at decent prices. Brown with 10 bookings would be your most likely candidate and prices are reflected in this. I’m looking at Ajer, he has 6 bookings already and he’s available at 6/1 with Betfair yet only 11/4 with Bet365. Edouard with 4 bookings is available at 8/1 which is a great price. He’s only 3/1 with Bet365 and as short as 23/10 with BetVictor. My suggestion is to back both players as a single and also to back the double. A double on Bet365’s bet builder is 14/1 however Betfair allow you to back a same match double on bookings which pays 53/1.

    Recommended Bets

Edouard to be shown a card @ 8/1
Ajer to be shown a card @ 6/1
    Edouard + Ajer card double @ 53/1

    Above prices with Betfair

    • cockerspaniel 5 years ago

That is a big price for Ajer mate . G.L.

    • ausie11 5 years ago

Don’t think this will be much of a game mate. I’d wait and see team news as well. I’d expect both sides to largely rotate ahead of next weekends cup final.

    • nb89 5 years ago

I’ve seen both Oko-Flex and Dembele at the recent cup finals they played against Rangers and I thought Dembele looked very good but he is like a wee boy. Still got a fair bit to go before he’s ready to be playing in the first team. As for Oko-Flex he didn’t stand out at all. Both teams had far better players than him at both levels.

    bookings in Fiorentina game:

    45bps is 5/6

    55 is 17/10

    65 is 16/5

  17. HullShaker 5 years ago

    Morning gents,

Hot to trot in Iceland with yesterday’s Nap and Nb but Guarani gutted the Paraguyan Night Owl with a rare blank in Asuncion.

Two selections for today; one hailing from The Urvalsdeild and the other much closer to home in the FA Trophy final…

    STJARNAN VS. KA (1800KO):

I’m surprised the hosts are priced up at 4/6 to grab the points here, they are by far the superior side to KA who have conceded 1-3-0-3 goals in their opening 4 matches.

H2H’s are rarely big scorers but I have high hopes for Stjarnan who are looking good this campaign and I reckon they have enough to grab a brace:

    STJARNAN OVER 1.5 TEAM GOALS
    (4/6, bet365) NAP

    ****************************************

    FYLDE VS. LEYTON ORIENT (1615KO):

It was heartbreak for Lancashire Coast outfit Fylde last weekend as they crashed out of their Wembley play-off final to Salford and, as much as I’d like them to reverse that outcome, I can’t see it being easy against Orient.

By far the best two National League sides throughout the season but overall, Orient have edged out Flyde and that was borne out in the two H2H’s with The O’s scoring 2 and 3 team goals.

If Flyde are to score then their main threat will be Danny Rowe but at 7/5, I think there’s more value in an Orient brace at a similar price:

LEYTON ORIENT OVER 1.5 TEAM GOALS
    (5/4, bet365) NB

    ****************************************

    TEAM GOALS DOUBLE
    (2.74/1, bet365)

    Best of luck 👍

Managed to avoid the feeding frenzy – of sorts in the quest for Wembley tickets. We’re sat 10 foot apart but we don’t care. All the good seats went fast and they’re now selling off odds and sods, hence we’re sitting apart. What I’ve saved on my ticket, I’m gonna treat myself to a shiny new footie shirt.
We’re going by train, so no traffic to worry about, arriving with enough time before and leaving late to enjoy pre and post match drinks. Hopefully the fight Derby showed in the last game can be taken into the final.
If anybody else is travelling, I hope you manage to get your tickets sorted. Have a feeling, all of Derby’s will be gone very very soon.

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Enjoy the day – tough game for you guys and I’ll have to be tipping Villa.

    • nathanufton 5 years ago

True, but Villa struggled to be clinical in the last game. Derby sold its ticket allocation in 2hrs. Unless they free any more up of the unsold/unallocated 17-18000 other tickets that generally go to the prawn sandwich brigade, that’s the only option some will have now of getting a ticket.

    • simpledxb 5 years ago

Anything can happen in a playoff final…

BTW – Derby tickets didn’t sell out in 2hrs – they went on sale on Friday and general sale today…

Should be a good day though. Let’s hope for a Villa win-to-nil like the other 2 times we played you this season ;)
