IT'S a strange weekend with just six top-flight games at 3pm in England and Scotland.
In fact there are seven matches on Sunday including Chelsea v Liverpool and Hibs v Hearts.
Still there's plenty to look at on Saturday and I'm hoping for a profitable day.
I reckon Man City will bounce back from their shock at Norwich to see off Watford easily. Talking of Norwich, they could be brought back down to earth at Burnley and my Super Single is Ashley Barnes to score. Only Sadio Mane and Sergio Aguero have scored more Premier League goals than him in 2019 which is incredible.

My only bet on Friday was a 3-1 both to score treble that landed fairly comfortable on games at Southampton, Genoa and Twente. Good to get back to winning ways after a poor week.

Firstly I look for teams I’ve had success with in the past (in this case Joenkoepings Soedra from the Swedish 2nd tier) and look at their form, opponents form and glance at the head to heaf record.
After that I’ll check out the top divisions of nations playing on a said day, after that if I have a few games lined up I go with a mixture of gut instinct and better odds on which games to place into a bet.

Less relevant because home advantage is often a huge factor with corners – as teams are at home they have to have more of a ‘go’ whereas away from home against the big boys they may be more tempted to sit in and park the bus. I’ve not posted for a while due to work commitments but have some time today to look at some bets!
One standout for me is the game between Livingston v Aberdeen. Aberdeen have started their campaign with what can only be described as mind numbing football. Derek McInnes has taken the club back years with his tactics and transfer dealings over the past two seasons and he seems to be running out of ideas, or should I say, stubbornly unwilling to change his tactics or team selections in a 4-5-1 formation which just isn’t working!
The Dons have been guilty of playing hoof ball with Cosgrove isolated up top and a serious lack of creativity from midfield has nullified any real goal threat from Aberdeen. Add to this, the list of injuries mounting up with Ojo & Bryson being the latest casualties which has left the team threadbare and only 13 first team players available for training. One other factor which might play a part in today’s game is the artificial pitch which surely gives Livingston the advantage for this encounter.
I’m expecting Aberdeen to struggle in a low scoring encounter.

That’s good good to know DC. I don’t know too much about Livi but like yourself, they’ve impressed me from the short highlights I’ve seen. The odds on Livi to get something from this game are just too big to pass up. My only concern is with the injuries Aberdeen have, DM might be forced to blood some youth (some good prospects at that) and/or change tactics but knowing McInnes, he’ll play the same tactics and look to some more experienced players and play them in unfavoured positions.

Leeds/Derby 12:30pm early thoughts:
The sides met 4 times last season seeing 3 victories for Leeds and the reverse leg playoff semi-final saw Derby overcome a 1 nil loss from the first leg, an early Leeds goal to put them 2 nil on aggregate up, only for Marriott to spoil the Leeds party and book a place in the playoff final at Wembley with a 4-2 Rams win ( 4-3 aggregate ). It was a memorable win for Derby becoming the only championship team to overturn a home leg loss and then win and book a place in the final. Leeds also made history by becoming the only team to win the away fixture and lose outright in the 2nd leg with home advantage. The best team on that night did win. It also failed to give Leeds their fairytale win for their documentary.
Leeds have stuttered a bit this term but their wins tally has put them at the top of the league. They’ve kept the bulk of their squad and they are convinced they’ll get the title this season. As long as they don’t have their customary wheels off the bus spell after January, they could well achieve it.
Derby have had a wretched start to this campaign, with a win away to Huddersfield in the opening day and only 7 pts, we’ve been largely dreadful. To be fair to them, last weeks game against Cardiff, the Rams did enough to win the game as they were much improved. Cardiff deserved their penalty and had the chance with a 1 on 1 late on to steal all the spoils, but failed to capitalize. Derby also had chances – more of them, but were wasteful. I thought the ref had a dreadful game, he missed almost everything. A good Derby penalty shout was missed, a Cardiff handball leading upto their penalty was missed and blatant fouls missed and unpunished. We’re glad to see the back of Darren England.
The 1-1 scoreline was about right. Neither side really deserved to lose, but we competed.
This Leeds game has been on Derby’s radar for a while and it comes towards the end of a run of tough games for the Rams. Worse teams this season have beaten Derby with relative ease and have exposed the big holes left in our side with Mount/Wilson and Tomori going back to their parent clubs.
The bookies are convinced that Leeds will win today, my brain says I agree, but giving Derby a 13/2 price to win is very generous if I’m to be honest. ( price with bet365 ). Leeds are just 2/5 to win and you just know they’ll be gunning for us after the humiliation that unfolded last May at their ground. I don’t blame them.
If Derby do show up like we did last weekend against Cardiff, then Derby could have the ability to upset the form books again and hand one to them. Stranger things have happened – like the playoff semi final 2nd leg. We can’t just park the bus, we have to get at them from the off, its is the only way from the Rams perspective.
This game is highly likely to deliver a bucket full of cards. The last time we faced off in May, saw both teams reduced to 10 men via 2nd yellow cards, but again, that match could/should of seen more for both sides. Leeds can be vulnerable at the back – just like Derby and if Leeds invite Derby on to attack them, Derby will score.
This should be a cracker for the neutrals and is on Sky I believe.

This is gonna be a tough tough game for the Rams and anything less than our best footie is not gonna cut it today. Leeds are out for our blood over the way we dumped them out of a trip to Wembley.
I do think Leeds deserve to be heavy favourites, but maybe the bookies have it wrong the way they’ve priced Derby as high as 8/1 to win this game with a lot of bookies. Hi All usually stick to horse racing but have a few football bets on Saturdays can anyone tell me do Scottish Football matches have shorter half times .Always watch the score programes Soccer Saturday etc near full time to get the results and Scottish matches always seem to finish first yet kick off at 3pm like English games.
