IT was another day when I felt a bit unlucky with my bets – they're either winners or losers but I reckon I'm due one.
In the Daily Record my Super Single was Carlisle draw no bet at 11-8 but for the site I changed it to Romelu Lukaku first scorer when I read Carlisle had lost manager John Sheridan.
Carlisle didn't flinch at Sheridan's exit and beat Mansfield 3-2 while Lukaku was a tale of woe. He missed a great chance then when it looked like he'd take a penalty for 1-0 he instead gave the ball to Juan Mata to open the scoring before hitting United's second. You should have heard my screams of anguish in the car.
I had no better luck with the Top Treble which was beaten by a injury-time goal by Swindon at Macclesfield. That's two weeks running I've lost out at the last minute on this bet.
It was three out of five on the moneyback acca thanks to Burnley, Bury and Raith but Championship sides Ayr and Dundee United let me down and another loser was the both to score treble.
There were some winners – including Greg whose nap was Falkirk to score and HullShaker – but not as many as usual.
On Sunday the FA Cup again dominates with Fulham v Oldham, Man City v Rotherham, Millwall v Hull, Preston v Doncaster, QPR v Leeds, Sheffield United v Barnet, Woking v Watford and Newport v Leicester. Again try to check team news before having a bet.
I've simply chosen to back against the two non-league teams – Barnet and Woking – against much better opponents. As long as they show no complaceny and put out decent line-ups Sheffield United and Watford should cover the -1 handicap.
Complete the treble with Doncaster to score at Preston. Plenty of people fancy Donny to cause a shock and there are signs it could happen with Donny winning five out of six and scoring 14 in those matches. They should at least hit the target.
Elsewhere we have La Liga games and they look decent – Eibar v Villarreal, Sevilla v Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid v Real Sociedad and Getafe v Barcelona – and some in Portugal including Benfica v Rio Ave.
My only other bet on Sunday is a goals treble from Spain and Portugal.
