Every game at the foot of the table is crucial at this stage of the season but tonight’s at Goodison Park could be monumental come the end of May.
Everton’s 10-point deduction has them slap bang in the middle of a relegation battle and a win tonight could drag Crystal Palace right in to it with them.
Palace are five points ahead of the Toffees but are in rotten form and in the midst of a minor injury crisis. Under-pressure boss Roy Hodgson took ill earlier in the week (get well soon Roy!) so he’ll be missing from the dugout too.
The Eagles have lost three of their last four Premier League matches, are winless in six on the road and haven’t won at Goodison on their last eight visits. There’s little to suggest they’ll end that run tonight.
Everton’s only win in 11 has been against Crystal Palace when they overcame at them at the second attempt in the FA Cup. They’re winless in seven (D3 L4) in the Premier League and striker Dominic Calvert Lewin has gone 18 appearances without a goal.
Despite all that, Everton are 7/10 to win this evening and the England striker is 15/8 favourite to get his name on the scoresheet.
A full house under the lights should give Everton the edge and with Palace shipping goals (they’ve conceded 14 gaols in their last four) there could be a few goals in this one for the Toffees.
