Monday’s Football Tips: Bosses on the brink as West Ham host Wolves

The stakes couldn't be higher in tonight's Premier League clash with the West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers bosses both needing a win to save their skins.

West Ham's 3-1 loss at fellow strugglers Leicester last Monday left Julen Lopetegui on the brink and it was then Gary O'Neil's turn to feel the heat when Wolves crashed 4-0 on the road at Everton.

It looked unlikely that both would still be in the dugout for this relegation six-pointer but their respective boards have resisted the temptation to pull the trigger.

That will probably change if either loses tonight's game so it promises to be a game packed with tension and drama.

West Ham United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers top betting tips

The scoreline at Leicester was harsh on West Ham last Monday as they actually controlled most of the game and carved out some good chances.

With home advantage I fancy them to win tonight, although the odds aren't great at just 4/5 with Kwiff. Adding on over 1.5 match goals boosts the odds to 15/14 in a bet builder.

Summer signing Niclas Fullkrug made his return from injury last week and might be thrown in from the start after Michail Antonio was ruled out following his road accident on Saturday.

There's action in League One tonight as well and Northampton have the chance to move out of the drop zone when they host Peterborough.

Town are in dismal form though, going five games without a win and losing their last two matches against Wigan and Stevenage.

Peterborough are in higher spirits after winning four of their last six in all competitions but they've lost their last four away games in League One.

That makes it a tricky one to call and the half-time draw is always a good option in those cases. It pays 5/4 with Kwiff tonight.

BTTS has failed to land in three of the last four for Northampton so betting against it could pay off here at decent odds of 27/20.

Getafe v Espanyol top betting tips

Tonight's La Liga action also comes at the foot of the table as Espanyol look to leapfrog Getafe and get out of the relegation places.

Espanyol only just scraped back into the top flight via the promotion play-offs last term but they're flirting with an instant return to the Segunda Division.

They've lost eight of their last 11 games in all competitions and crashed out of the Copa Del Rey to fourth-tier Barbastro in midweek.

Getafe needed penalties to see off minnows Orihuela in their cup tie but are in better form, losing just three of their last 10 in all competitions.

That's why Kwiff make them 7/10 favourites tonight but adding on over 1.5 goals boosts the odds to 13/8 at Bet365.

This is another game that could boil over and Kwiff price a red card at 19/10. Backing certain players to go in the book might be safer and Espanyol defender Omar El Hilali is 6/4 at Betfred for a fifth card of the season.
