Welcome back to MFT’s 10-1,000 betting challenge, where we aim for a 100x return on the original investment via a small stake betting strategy, prioritising low risk and low odds en route to a long-term target.
While this column is dedicated to high-probability tips, there is no guarantee of profit. If playing along, you should consider your own budget and confidence in the tip provided, and make your own decision whether to follow, cash out or continue at every stage. 18+, please gamble responsibly.
We will use a unit system for our stakes, allowing readers to set their own unit value that suits their own budget. For the sake of simplicity, for us, 1 unit = £1.
We will continue to transparently track our progress as far as we go on the path to 1,000, but will refresh our main tracking stake back to the starting point every time we surpass 100 units – a 10x ROI.
For the sake of consistency, all tips are placed using odds from bet365. It worth pointing out that with Bet365 we can paid out if our selection goes into a lead by two or more goals.
Great to get back to winning ways on Tuesday night as both Middlesbrough and Bradford did the business for us.
Bet 2 – Real Madrid vs Benfica – Wednesday 25th February 8:00pm
Real Madrid are well placed to finish the job against Benfica in the second leg.
Madrid return to the Bernabeu with a 1-0 aggregate lead and a W14-D0-L2 home record in all competitions this season, averaging 2.44 goals per game. That level of output at home reflects sustained attacking pressure rather than narrow margins.
Benfica road profile is a concern. In the league phase they were W1-D0-L3 away, losing to Chelsea, Newcastle and Juventus. Their only away win came against Ajax, who finished 32nd. Across away matches they concede 1.47 xGA, allow 11.5 shots and 5.0 shots on target per game. They managed home victories against Napoli, who finished 32nd and Real Madrid in the final game of the league stage.
They have also failed to score in five of nine matches overall in this competition. In the first leg Benfica created 0.89 xG and four big chances but did not convert, while Madrid were clinical and managed the game state effectively.
With home scoring consistency, a one goal cushion and Benfica defensive numbers trending upward away from Lisbon, Madrid have both structural and situational edge heading into the return leg.
- Bet: Real Madrid to win
- Odds: 4/9
- 13.33 units to return 19.32
