IT used to be a £100m game – now it's being billed as a £200m match. Mental eh.

The money involved won't make it a better contest as there's really too much as stake and players will be scared stiff of making fatal errors.

Sunday's Scottish Premiership play-off was worth nearer £1m and the English equivalent could be just as tight.

Both of the meetings between the pair in the league this season have ended in 1-0 wins to the home side and in the semi-finals it was good defending rather than attacking flair that got them through.

Huddersfield needed a penalty shoot-out to see off Sheffield Wednesday and while this could go all the way only two of the 30 finals have needed penalties.

I hope I'm wrong but goals could be at a premium and I'm backing under 2.5 and it's heavily favoured at 16-5 at Marathonbet so there's no value.

Huddersfield are favourites at 7-5 with William Hill and bet365 with Reading 12-5 at the likes of bet365. The draw is 9-4 at Marathonbet and that could be the call. In what looks like a 50-50 contest the Royals look a little big so consider Reading draw no bet at 6-4 with Paddy Power.

Either team to win on penalties is worth a look at 5-1 with Skybet. Huddersfield didn't miss any in the semi-final and are 11-1 with Betfred to win on penalties while Reading are the same price.

Bets to Consider

Under 2.5 goals WIN

Draw WIN

Penalty shoot-out WIN

This little threesome is looking very good already with penalties just ten minutes away.

Yup, all three came in. Well done, if you backed any of them. In fact, well done even if you didn’t.

Yeah well done to anyone on penalties – wish I’d put it up as the SS.

having strong personal links to reading i feel sorry for them they pushed Huddersfield all the way but lost in the £200 million shoot out lottery and should comeback much stronger next year but congratulations to little Huddersfield your manager is an excellent talent and i hope you do well against the big boys next year.
