Mark Walker's Scottish Tips

Queen of the South are ending the season like a steam train and they can make it five wins in a row when they welcome Stenhousemuir to Dumfries.

The Palmerston Park side have had an inconsistent season and really for a club of their size, they should have been challenging Arbroath for the League One side.

But Peter Murphy's outfit have finally found some consistency recently at just the right time.

They have stormed to four wins in a row to see them move up to third place in the table and are one place ahead of faltering opponents Stenhousemuir.

Queen's have defeated Caley Thistle, Annan Athletic, Montrose and Kelty Hearts on their run and must be full of confidence.

Stenny stopped the rot last week with an injury-time leveller against ICT, but previous to that, their form had fallen off a cliff, and they lost three in a row and haven't won at six.

The hosts have been backed all week, but are still solid value at 17/20 with McBookie.com.

Ross County have been written off for their trip to Kilmarnock, but they are well worth backing on the double chance at McBookie.com's 7/5.

The Staggies are level on points with Killie, yet are almost 5/1 to win the game with Killie odds-on.

There's little to suggest those prices are right with the teams heading into the bottom-six split with contrasting fortunes.

While Killie were suffering their second 5-1 away defeat in a row at Celtic in the last game before the split, County could consider themselves very unfortunate to go down to a 3-2 defeat at St Mirren – the same team who had battered Killie this month in Paisley.

They should have got at least a draw and the return of Ronan Hale makes a big difference to them. They also have course and distance when it comes to relegation battles.

Killie are in deep trouble and although they beat Motherwell at home in their last home game, Well had to play most of the game with ten men.

Raith Rovers are another team in form and they are mounting a late charge for the play-offs in the Championship and they should be backed to beat Morton.

They are level on points with Partick Thistle, who play leaders Falkirk on Friday in a game which could effectively win the Bairns the league.

They have beaten both Falkirk and Ayr in recent weeks and can get the better of Ton at 3/4.
