Mark Walker's Scottish Tips

ARBROATH have suddenly motored into a four point lead at the top of League One and can consolidate that position with a win against struggling Alloa.

The Gayfield side started the season really poorly with just one win in eight in all competitions, but have turned it around recently and are very much a side on the up.

They've won five of their last six games in the league and haven't conceded a goal in their last three wins. Young Fraser Taylor, on loan from St Mirren, is tearing it up and veteran hitman Gavin Reilly has a new lease of life.

Alloa were expected to go well this season and were one of the favourites to challenge in this unpredictable league.
But they've gone off the rails recently and dropped to mid-table

They've managed just one win in their last 12 games in all competitions and lost three in a row to Cove Rangers, Montrose and Stenhousemuir.

Arbroath have already won at Alloa this season and can do it against at 21/20 with McBookie.com.

East Fife haven't had to bother about the congested festive fixture list having enjoyed a two-week break to get rested up since their last outing where they trounced Spartans 5-1 in Methil.

And they look a solid bet at 4/5 with McBookie.com to see off Forfar Athletic at New Bayview.

Dick Campbell's men were struggling with a desperate injury list but a few of them are back now and it made all the difference in their last game.

The experience of Alan Trouten has helped them and they also saw off title challengers Elgin City at home before that.

They face a Forfar side who have won away just once all season and have lost their last four away games.

They replaced Ray McKinnon with Jim Weir and although that got them an upsurge, they still look short against East Fife  and the hosts should have too much.

Stirling Albion haven't had a brilliant season, but it's hard to see why they are as big as 13/5 with McBookie.com to win at Clyde.

The Bully Wee have improved recently, but are still five points worse off than the Binos, who have already beaten them 3-1 this season.

Stirling were on a bad run, but snapped out of it in style by scoring four goals at Elgin the other week and have drawn their last two games and look overpriced.
