MONACO love to play wide open and it was a tactic that ended up costing them at the Etihad.
Their 5-3 defeat to Man City was one of the games of the season but the French should have shored it up after taking a 3-2 lead.
Instead after missing a penalty they conceded three more and a 5-3 defeat leaves them up against it in their bid to reach the last eight of the Champions League tonight – they're a best 4-1 at William Hill.
Barcelona proved last week miracles do happen and while Monaco only need to win 2-0, 3-1 or 4-2 to qualify it's a tough task against a side that loves to play attack-minded sides.
The first goal is crucial – if City get it they won't be caught and bookies make them 2-9 to qualify.
Team news is vital with Monaco having a doubt over star man Radamel Falcao and if he's out forget it.
Monaco are the highest-scoring side in Europe's top five leagues and only know one way to play so take over 3.5 goals at 11-10 with betfair.
The Principality side have won 20 and lost just once at home this season and are 13-8 with bet365 to triumph tonight. City are the same price and a draw is possible at 3-1 with McBookie.
Another value bet to look at is both to score in each half at 6-1 with bet365.
If Falcao starts back him at 5-1 with BetStars to net first while on-form Sergio Aguero is 19-5 with McBookie.
The other tie sees Atletico Madrid start 4-2 up at home to Bayer Leverkusen. Atletico won't be overhauled and since the first leg Bayer have changed boss with Tayfun Korkut replacing Roger Schmidt.
I fancy Atletico and over 2.5 match goals at 11-8 with Ladbrokes. For first scorer look at Antoine Griezmann at 4-1 with BetStars.
Bets to Consider
Monaco v Man City over 3.5 goals
Atletico & over 2.5 goals
Griezmann to score first
That Monaco v Man City BTTS in both halves looks a good one (6/1 Coral)
Fancied BTTS in 1st half but can’t see it in Coral’s 163 options on this game.
It may be up before kick off.
No, Coral ha BTTS in both halves and BTTS in the 2nd half, but no 1st half market.
That’s for both games.
“Team news is vital with Monaco having a doubt over star man Radamel Falcao and if he’s out forget it.”
Never say that about the best attacking team in Europe Paul ;) They delivered like I thought they would. Over the two legs they were the better team & they fully deserve going through.
I have £500 on them to win outright at 67/1. I’ll be taking the cash if I get it up to 10k or around that figure.
I hope they draw Leicester
I can say what I want as you can. It’s about opinions.
Bottom line is my tip was over 3.5 goals in the game and it won.
