IT’S a mixed bag for the Scottish Football League this weekend with some clubs on league duty while others take part in the Scottish Cup fourth round.
But that hasn’t stopped us from doing our homework as we look to bash the bookies with a winning treble of SFL teams.
We kick off in the Irn-Bru Third Division and focus on Annan’s home clash with Clyde.
The Galabank men’s promotion push has slipped up in recent weeks and in their last outing – on Hogmanay against title rivals Stranraer – they slumped to a 4-2 defeat at Stair Park.
Harry Cairney’s side have been victorious in only one of their last three outings and must stop the rot quickly if they are to have realistic hopes of winning promotion to the Second Division.
They now find themselves five points behind leaders Alloa – but a home win against a Bully Wee side 10 points behind them in the table can get them back on track.
Annan have been 1-0 winners in the last two meetings between the clubs and I am taking them to complete the hat-trick at 5-6 with William Hill.
We stay in the Third Division and a Stranraer side I have been tipping for large parts of the season. Keith Knox’s men are on an excellent run of results, losing only once in their last nine.
As a result they have firmly established themselves as genuine title candidates and sit in second place, only two points behind Alloa.
This weekend they travel to face a Montrose side they are a huge 16 points ahead of in the table – and I can’t see anything other than an away win for Knox’s on-form troops. Go for a Stranraer win at 10-11 with bet365, Skybet and sportingbet.
We finish up in the Scottish Cup and focus on Ross County’s home clash with Stenhousemuir. Since Derek Adams returned to Dingwall, County have been in excellent form and have moved into pole position in the race to win promotion to the SPL.
They will also be looking to go on an extended run in the Cup to bring in much-needed coffers to the club and will fancy their chances against their Second Division opponents.
Stenny have been in decent form in the Second Division and sit in third place – but surely a tricky trip to Dingwall will prove to be too much for them. Take County as the third side in our SFL treble at 4-9 with Ladbrokes, Coral and Betfred.

Ross County have had a few more days to work off the remains of the Chrimbo Turkey as well remember!
Last match was a long long way ago on Boxing Day, a good 12 days – they’re going to be fairly fresh at kick off. They’re home too!
