Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson prediction

As the whole world hopes that Mike Tyson will give Jake Paul a reality check on Saturday, bookmakers found little reason to support the Baddest Man on the Planet.

Does Iron Mike have enough gas in the tank for one more famous night or will Jake Paul add another controversial win to his record?

Check out our Paul vs Tyson prediction below, complete with the best available odds, and where to watch the fight.

Tale of the tape

Jake Paul is a case where the fighter's name raises more questions than answers. Originally a social media personality, Disney actor, and YouTuber, The Problem Child turned to boxing around 2018. He already has 11 fights under his belt, winning 10 with seven knockouts. Quite a few of his triumphs remain controversial, particularly because he rarely fights pro boxers.

Nonetheless, Paul has already knocked out several MMA stars, including Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Mike Perry. His sole defeat came to Tommy Fury in 2023, his only high-profile boxing opponent to date.

Mike Tyson's resume is so stacked that he really shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Jake Paul. But here we are, and the harsh reality is that 58-year-old Iron Mike will face the 27-year-old.

Tyson is one of the most famous figures in boxing history and to this day remains the youngest heavyweight world champion. He was undefeated for years in his early career but personal problems including drugs and jail time kept him from staying at his peak for long.

Tyson's last professional appearance was in 2005 when he lost to Kevin McBride. But he returned for an exhibition fight against Roy Jones in 2020.

Paul vs Tyson prediction: The dream is alive

It's difficult to perceive this fight as a full-fledged professional bout with all the rule changes and the timeline of its organisation. But even with the unusual rulebook, this fight will appear on both boxers' records.

Instead of 12 three-minute rounds, there will be only eight and their length has been reduced to two minutes each. They will fight with 14 oz gloves instead of the regular 10 oz, to reduce the health risks for Tyson.

But the latest rule changes confirmed that there will be no restrictions on knockouts, which is why so many people hope that Iron Mike will put Jake to sleep.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict how functionally ready Tyson is and at the same time, he will have to maintain a high pace and keep close to Paul in order to win. Our impression from the open training was that Tyson is not as ready as his carefully narrated fight camp videos suggest.

Paul is no longer an amateur YouTube boxer and despite his controversial record, he really aims to have a long boxing career. He has the anthropometric advantage and is 31 years younger. While Mike definitely still has the power to knock almost anyone out with a clean punch, he is 58, with a bunch of serious health issues behind his back.

They can promote this fight however they like. We still see it as a semi-exhibition with a ton of money on the line. A knockout would be devastating for either party, and we predict a longer fight than most people anticipate.

Over 4.5 rounds looks great at 3/5 right now, and we would even risk going all the way to a decision at 11/8 at Betano.

Paul vs Tyson betting odds: Multiple opportunities for good profit

While we would not advise backing either fighter due to all the uncertainties behind this bout, there is value in the odds.

Paul is the bookmakers' favourite ahead of this fight and Betano gave him 9/17 to win.

Iron Mike's win is offered at 3/2 and there will be plenty of people jumping on those odds. So if you want to back the legend, do it before the odds drop.

Alternatively, the knockout market will be just as popular. You can pick Paul at 8/5 and Tyson at 23/10.
