DEEPEST, darkest Peru for me this evening – it's not the greatest of cards but this one may just offer up some value…

UTC CAJAMARCA VS. AYACUCHO (8.30pm):

UTC are favourites for this one and, based on H2H's, I can see why bookies have given them an edge.

But, look a little deeper at recent results and there's a case to be made for Ayacucho; they naturally appeal having had a better campaign than their opposition to date (10th v 17th) but even more telling are their last 6 away games.

I don't doubt for one minute that a look at their dismal away form has influenced the bookies in pricing Ayacucho as they have but, again, I'm not as swayed – 4 of those last 5 losses came against Cristal, Binacional, Alianza Lima, Melgar, the top 4 sides in the division!

That's some disastrous run of luck with the fixtures but they weren't embarrassed greatly in any of those 4 games against the big hitters and came out of that run with a 1-2 away win at Cantolao!

I'm not saying they'll win here but I do think they will make life difficult for the hosts with a stalemate being a possible outcome
