YESTERDAY was a good one with both the Icelandic youth goals and England corner bets getting the green light – unfortunately I scuppered the chances of a full house with a dud in Brazil later on.
Two games I like the look of today. The first comes from Iceland and features a game I really fancy for goals while the 2nd hails from Bolivia for the big second leg of the Apertura finals.
Kari v Tindastoll (1pm)
Kari’s potential in front of goal served me well midweek when they scored not just the 1 needed but 3 past top-flight outfit Vikingur who only managed to edge out the minnows in extra time.
A win for the hosts today will take them to within 1 point of the lead position of 2 Deild and if Kari were minnows against Vikingur they are more like sharks against today’s opposition Tinfastoll.
Life for the visitors is poor. They have amassed a haul of 0 points from their opening 4 games and have conceded 3, 4, 7 and 5 goals in their campaign to date. These two played out a 7-0 mauling to Kari just a few months ago and I can’t see anything but a solid home win.
- Goal line 3.5 (1.85, bet365)
Jorge Wilstermann v The Strongest (8pm)
Forget the World Cup – this one’s the biggie in Bolivia and with all eyes on the second-leg showdown I’ll be touching down in Cochabamba for what ought to be a cracker.
Wilstermann missing a 21st-minute penalty in La Paz (it was a shocker which the keeper saved with his foot) cost me my bets and ended up seeing The Strongest tuck a 2-1 home win under their belts so it’s all down to Jorge’s home performance this evening and I just think they are too strong to roll over without a real fight.
Midfielder Aponte will miss tonight’s game as a result of his red card but that’s more than balanced out by The Strongest’s first-choice keeper also being absent for giving the ref to much slather in the 1st leg.
The defeat was Jorge’s first after 7 back-to-back wins and is only their second defeat in 13 matches – that form has seen some powerful performances and none more so than on their home turf.
The Strongest’s altitude advantage will be voided here and Tigres travel about as well as Guinness – they have won only 9 of their last 25 away fixtures with 70% of their last 10 games on the road being defeats.
Two selections to consider and if they come in it really will be a wow moment as I’ll be having a giant red ‘W’ tattooed on each buttock as a sign of my allegiance to the mighty Wilstermann.
- Wilstermann over 1.5 team goals
