MY beloved National League North is looking starved of goals in comparison to its slightly posher Southern cousin and while their followers and players may never have had a proper fight after 12 pints of mild or eaten a kebab and its container I'll grant them the fact it's THE place for goals.
Wealdstone v Billericay Town (7.45pm)
Two teams in fairly decent form and one common denominator … goals!
Wealdstone look to have great momentum on their side but perhaps the most telling statistic is the difference between their home form and their fortunes on the road.
While the latter looks brilliant with just 1 defeat in 5, it is their home form that pisses on the proverbial bonfire. They have just one win in their last 8 at home and have conceded 2-0-2-1-2-3-3-3-2-3-2 goals in their last 11 consecutive matches!
Billericay can capitalise on this and although their own home form is their dominant force, away from home they are still free-scoring (and conceding for that matter) – they have netted 3-2-2-3 team goals in their last 4 away from home and it's a pattern that could be repeated tonight.
H2H-wise, the most recent in August was a dull 1-0 affair but precisely 1 year ago the two met in a cracking 5-2 away win for Wealdstone that was preceded by a 4-2 home win for Billericay back in 2014 – let's hope for more of that!
