ALL good in Colombia last night as the solitary pick came up with the goods and I’m staying in SA but travelling about 3500 miles Southwest over the Bolivian borders for this one…
GUABIRÁ VS. BOLÍVAR (2000 KO)
For those that are fairly new to Bolivian football, you’d be forgiven for thinking it is full of teams that go through hissy fits of appalling form then string together a blinder of a run…it is!
The trick is catching those teams as they enter and end such runs and it could be a casing point here; Guabira ‘went decent’ for a bit 2 years ago then started the obligatory spells of up and down form. This particular games sees them at perhaps their worst ebb and they enter this one on the back of 5 back to back defeats.
The hosts have conceded 1-2-1-2-2-2-3-2-0-3-4-4-2-4 goals in their last consecutive 14 matches and will be up against a Bolivar side who, despite their own drop in high standards, are putting the campaign back on track and who have failed to score in just 1 of theirast 12 matches.
H2H-wise it looks like Guabira hold all the answers but I’d maybe exercise a degree of caution for the above reasons; the team that won 4-1 last time out are in nowhere near the shape they were just 5 months ago!
So, a Bolivar side away from La Paz and out of their very best form will always present a certaon degree of risk but I’m taking them to get the better of Guabira here
