Monday was a losing day for us, with Rizzel's sole selection unable to land a blow at Carlisle.

It was a double whammy for Rizz, as the eventual winner was the horse he was close to choosing but opted against at the last moment.

 Cupola 3/1 – Wolverhampton 4.20

A couple of horses caught my eye over the jumps, but I left them alone at short prices. That left me with the AW stuff, and I'll be honest: it's not a great card in terms of quality.

However, there was one particular horse that I liked the look of, and at 3/1, he could be a good bet to upset the market favourite, who is trading at just a shade over even money at the time of writing.

Although only a Class 4 affair, I thought the race itself was quite interesting. Your market leader arrives on the back of a recent win at this track and is open to further progress.

You also have a couple of interesting debutantes, in particular Wonderbolt and Rajwa who are both nicely bred and hail from the Karl Burke yard, a trainer who is known for exploits with younger horses. That said, I sided with the Clive Cox-trained Cupola, who caught my eye on debut.

Despite running green on debut last month, there was plenty to like about the performance from Cupola that day as she had to race very wide on that occasion, but when the penny dropped, she showed a lovely turn of foot to storm home to snatch third spot.

Cupola should come on plenty for the experience and if settling better during running, could take all the beating.

I notice the bumper winner in Ireland on Saturday that DC mentioned on Mondays thread has moved straight to Willie Mullins yard DC has heard .

Mullins is killing racing isn’t he.
Soon there will be only his runners in championship races, I find it all a big turn off to be honest, what joy can he glean when he wins these races when he has 3,4,5,6,7 runners in them.
It’s like a football team of 11 men celebrating beating a team of 8 played as if it’s some sort of achievement.
