Cairnzy's runner, Fourofakind was not able to land a blow for local trainer Lizzie Quinlan up at Ayr. Maybe it's best to keep him on side at Perth during the summer months as that is the venue he has been putting in his best performances.
Rizzel's tips
Bread And Butter 7/4 – Market Rasen 2.40
Olly Murphy's runners have started to hit form since the turn of the new winter jumps season, and Bread And Butter has been one of the horses who has returned with a win. Due to him running in a conditional jockeys' race, it means he is running off the same mark as last time out and that puts him in a perfect position to follow up.
This race isn't particularly strong, and despite it being a slightly better grade race, this looks like a nice opportunity to get another win. He is running off a mark of 102 like his victory at Hereford just over a week ago, but he is actually running off a lower mark as Lewis Saunders is able to claim 7lbs rather than the 3lbs he claimed last time out. I am slightly surprised that he isn't shorter in the market given what I've just said, but that might be due to the top weight being a beaten odds-on favourite last time out, with the Fergal O'Brien yard starting to fire in winners as well.
It's very strange that it's taken so long for Bread And Butter to finally get a win for Olly Murphy as he put in a cracking first run for the yard at the Punchestown Spring Festival in 2023, which saw him finish 2nd in a very competitive handicap off a mark of 119, recording an RPR of 126. For whatever reason, his form went sour very quickly, but his return at Hereford showed that he has the ability to win races, and I think he will be tough to beat today with similar conditions today.
Thursday's racing looks to be the worst of the week so far, so despite plenty of cards, nothing else really stood out as a good bet.
Was going to post
Market Rasen -2.40…”Dazzmans Patter” 😉
Only looked due to the name Bread and Butter, all the better you fancy it Rizzel.
GL today
The joint 2nd favourite in the 2.40 Kosasiempre beat home ‘Neigh Botha’ (3rd) which is a bit of word play on some Scottish slang, he runs in the 1.15 at Sedgfield in what looks a lot weaker race than his last.
Well tipped up on Racing Post and is currently 6/4.
Bel et bien 1-30 Fontainebleau 🇫🇷
11-8 top 3 places bet365
Achnamara 3-00 Sedgefield
18-1 bet365 ew extra 6 places
Could plod on into the top half.
Stablemate clear getaway is odds on favourite for this.
Achnamara came 6th behind that one recently so a repeat would be nice.
40-1 ew 4 places for the braver punter.
Achnamara did win 2 class 6 races on the flat this year so is fairly capable but won’t be winning this.
