Rizzel has left Cairnzy in charge of Sunday's Lucky 15 bet.
Rizz walked away with one winner from four selections on Saturday’s lucky 15 bet. With that said, it was his 14/1 outsider who got the job done. I know some bookmakers offer double the odds for one winner on a lucky 15 bet so those who backed it may have walked away with some profit on the back of only one winner.
Royal Rhyme 5/2 – Curragh 3.35
This is a cracking race on paper, but I’ve opted to stick with Royal Rhyme for trainer Karl Burke and inform jockey Clifford Lee.
We don’t tend to see Karl Burkes charge that often ( ran only twice last season ), but on previous form, he is the class act in this field. He has gone well fresh before having won the Brigadier back in 2024 on his return to the track, but has generally found life tough at the top level of racing.
This race looks calmer waters for Royal Rhyme, and if he’s ready to go, he should be bang there at the finish.
Hornica 4/5 – Stratford 13:58
I try my best to avoid odds-on shots when filling up selections, but given the quality of racing on offer, I’ve opted to throw Hornica in this Sunday's lucky 15.
I’m a massive fan of Ben Pauling as a trainer, and he looks to have found Hornica a great opportunity to get off the mark.
My selection brings the best form to the table and has a handy 5lb taken off his back with jockey Beau Morgan doing the steering. Lady Kara and Merely A Detail were two others that I looked at, but seemingly have a bit to find with Hornica this time around.
Delgany Deadline 7/4 – Plumpton 14:17
The Skelton yard comes to Plumpton on Sunday with some decent chances, and I think Delgany Deadline can get their day off to the perfect start.
I caught a couple of replays of Delgany Deadline, and I was quite impressed with his penultimate start, which saw him win quite cosily at Leicester. My selection has seemingly got better and better with each run this season and was unlucky to bump into a decent sort last time out in Milan Milos. This doesn’t look as competitive, and my selection can get back to winning ways.
Double Powerful 13/2 – Plumpton 15:27
A competitive Class 2 affair in which I’m going to give a chance to Neil Mulholland's Double Powerful, who at the prices looks to have a good chance.
His form figures don’t inspire much confidence, but he’s actually run some good races in stronger company than this, including a good second in a big handicap contest at Kempton back in January.
This contest looks a good bit weaker, and with the step up in trip looking a good move by connections, I think he can run a big race if seeing out the trip.
