A couple of placed efforts on Tuesday, but nothing to talk about too much, with the two underperforming massively.
Kalif D'Airy travelled into the race nicely like he did on bumper debut, he'll win races in the future, but the two ahead of him in the race look like well above average horses. Fasol was shocking considering he is a 100+ rated horse on the flat. He was keen throughout the first half of the race, but even with that going against him I expected more. When Cobden asked for an effort in the home straight he looked like he was stuck in quicksand and was just going up and down on the spot.
Chepstow 3:10 – Lowry's Bar 7/4 (2pt)
This class 3 contest is the best race of the day and it has some veteran hurdles/chasers in here with Pentland Hills now a 9yo and Espoir De Romay fitting the veteran status as a 10yo. My attentions were instantly drawn to the Phillip Hobbs & Johnson White runner, Lowry's Bar.
The Hobbs & White 6yo has looked like a really nice horse for the future based on his three wins from three runs over hurdles so far. He has shown great characteristics, he had to battle on debut when the money arrived for him as he beat Panjari from the Nicholls yard, who has since won. Last time out they didn't go a great gallop at Wincanton in a Class 3 contest, and that didn't show him to his true ability as he had to get going by himself and not on the back of a strong pace to aim at, but once again he battled on hard and did his best work at the finish on soft ground.
2m is definitely a trip he can win off higher marks from but he really needs a solid gallop to be seen to best effect, so it's hardly surprising to see connections stepping him up to 2m 3f as he looks all stamina at the minimum trip and his pedigree suggests he should be spot on for this trip with him being related to two horses who stay 2m 4f and 3m. The soft ground looks perfectly fine for him as he has raced on this surface for the three runs in his career under rules to date and even his PTP 2nd placed effort was on yielding to soft ground.
If there's not more to come from this horse I'd be very surprised, and even though you are taking a relatively low price on him in a decent handicap I think he could prove too good for this lot.

Bookies taking no chances with Verdant Place (1.00) even after how badly he ran lto as they know he’s very well h’capped and will land one soon if not today.
Seems strong in the market today so will take my chance at 3/1.
Another that ticks a lot of boxes is Jouster in the last who clearly needs the step up in trip that he gets today.
