It seems a strange decision for Sporting Ace not to run at Warwick on Sunday as connections have been wanting very testing ground for him, so if the ground was the reason for him to be a NR that would be strange. Hopefully, the horse is okay and wasn't pulled out for a fitness problem. It's a shame he didn't run as the race panned out like I expected, with many of the runners turning out to be non-stayers, and as a result, we had a bit of a surprise winner.
Plumpton 4:30 – Colours On Canvas
It's a typical Monday of racing with some very poor races on offer and with Cheltenham around the corner it's best not to get too involved with this terrible level of racing and keep your spending money for the cracking week we have in store for us.
Colours On Canvas is the horse to have a bet on for Monday if you want to have a bet. This horse made a nice impression over today's C&D on his first attempt at the trip, winning by 12L and being eased, so it could have easily been further. That seems like decent form for this grade of race and the five pound rise in the weights shouldn't be enough to halt his progress, especially around Plumpton which seems to suit him well. His runner-up finish the time before last was a nice effort to finish behind Junkanoo who is a decent flat handicapper and has some strong form at Class 2/3 level over hurdles, with close runs behind the likes of Gentle Slopes, Goodwin and Doddiethegreat. Colours On Canvas was staying on well behind Junkanoo that day, so it wasn't a surprise that the longer trip he was racing over last time out, was going to suit.
Sean Bowen is a positive jockey booking, as he is still a huge player in the jockey's championship, and behind Harry Cobden he has been the best jockey in the UK this year. Sean hasn't been used by Jim & Suzi Best, and wasn't used when Suzi was the sole trainer on the licence, so the booking of Sean is a real statement that they fancy their chances of a second win in a row.
Ashroe Diamond W/O Lossiemouth is currently 85/40 with PP.
That’s very very generous and have snapped it up.
Your one greedy crocodile DC ! ?
Off in my annual jaunt to Cheltenham tomorrow for champions day.
5-00 start on Tuesday, just hope it stays fairly dry.
Any early tips for Tuesday will be welcome if you can especially DC and the plug who have great knowledge of the Irish scene and as they will probably win at least 18 of the 28 races will be very welcome
To be honest I ain’t had any ante post bets and not got a scooby what’s running.
Will just read tips, write ups and decide on the day.
????????????????????
I have just had a dabble on one of Willie Mullins many entries in the supreme tomorrow.
This horse intrigues me as it’s only ran in 2 non descript hurdles in France a year ago when trained in a small yard over the pond.
It only joined Mullins in December and was reportedly seen as one for next year.
If that’s the case why has he dropped it in this top race for it’s stable debut ??
Patrick Mullins is a more than capable jockey and of the 6 Mullins jockeys in this race I rate him probably 3rd or 4th best of the 6, so it’s weird he is on this rank outsider.
It’s a total longshot but being french bred maybe he can stay on past some beaten horses late on to snatch a top 6 of the 11 runners or better ??.
Probably not but that’s the gamble.
Mystical power will go off favourite on the day due to its breeding out of Galileo/Annie power but for a win I like Slade steel whose only defeats have come at the hands of ballyburn and that’s not here today.
A strong pace should bring his proven stamina into play as long as he’s in touch coming down the hill

16.30. .Nordic Tiger. .11/4
Had a small bet on Baddesley in the 14.30 done well on the hurdles but today is chase and still to be proven on the larger obstacles so like i say keeping it small .
GL ALL
welcome back busstop 2018
Bus stop
You still doing the Bangor meetings, not been there for a while, I’m cutting my job down to 3 days soon as I’m now 60 and officially an old twat ? so will have more time to get around to meetings.
Just drove from Holyhead to Bangor and passed a fleet of green Mullins horse transporters, hope SUPERSUNDAE moves quicker than those vans tomorrow ?
Welcome back. I hope you are doing well.
Elvis Never miss Bangor and local track and a great day out .
GL
Baddesley wins nicely at 7/2 nice to come back and first one wins. But as above didnt go big.
Busstop
Cheers for San Pedro, Crusied it!
Mint…
Nice to see you back Busstop
Johny jump up 2.00
What a shout azz
cheers mwc 777
Day 2
Gallagher’s
Should go to Ballyburn, but unless you got on early he’s not much of a price so it’s about looking at an alternative bet so I’m going to chance a WM 1,2,3
1. Ballyburn
2. Predators Gold
3. Ile Atlantique
BANC
I did manage to get F2F early doors at 5/1 so happy with that but for another dart I’m going to take Monty’s Star at 9/4 in the w/o market. I just don’t fancy Stay Away Fay.
Coral Cup
Traditionally the toughest race of the week to work out and this year us no different.
I have 3 of the first 4 in the betting backed in various bets I just don’t want Langer Dan winning again, I would find that very hard to swallow, yard are totally taking the piss and the handicapper falls for it year after year.
I get the feeling the winner will be a trend buster as there’s only really 1 horse that ticks the trend boxes and that is First Street currently available at 16/1. The only trend he fails is he’s running off a lower mark than his last win but other than that he hits every other trend and Hendo has won this race more than any other trainer including 2 of the last 5.
So I just have to have a saver on him.
Sa Majeste 6/1 5 places
Doddiethegreat 10/1 5 places
Built By Ballymore 12/1 5 places
First Street 16/1 6 places
Back with the rest later
I see Elliott has a few out tomorrow, any of them on your radar or is it dangerous to oppose Mr Mullins tomorrow?
Champion Chase
Should go to El Fab but for a bet I will wait to see the ground conditions and if good is in the description I’ll have a go on Captain Guineas to finish in the top 3.
X Country
I’m on Minella Indo but GE has them all lined up behind in the betting including Delta Work who has won it for the past 2 years so it won’t be an easy task but hopefully his class will see him home in front.
Grand Annual
The best way for me to narrow this race down is to simply go by the trends.
11-14 aged 7, 8 or 9
Rated between 136-152 (last 13)
10 of last 11 no more than 4 runs this season
Only 2 since 2004 to have already won a h’cap chase this season
No repeat winner since 1959
15 of last 19 previously ran at the festival
The only horse that ticks all these boxes in Saint Roi.
The only negative is Willie Mullins is yet to win a h’cap chase at the festival but will surely end that stat at some point so why not now.
Bumper
A real minefield with the 2 best Bumper horses we’ve seen not running (Jeroboam Machin and William Munny)
Looking at the trends once again it strongly favours horses with more than 1 run with the last to win with just 1 run being Briar Hill back in 2013 and 7 of the last 16 winners had also reached an OR of 132+.
I backed You Outta Know before the DRF and although a well beaten 2nd that was his first run since Aug and the winner is out.
I’m also going to take a chance on C’est To Chance currently 16/1 with 4 places on offer who was only beaten a head by William Munny who is the best Bumper horse we’ve seen so far so the form looks strong and will surely come on for the run.
BOL
What’s your tips for tomorrow DC.
Just names, I’ll catch up with the write ups later aye ??.
Cheers bud
Princess Polly 4-45 Toulouse ??
5-2 top 2 finish HILLS.
Probably needs one the 2 principals to fail to finish which Aberdeen street has done twice recently.
Muraad 6-27 Toulouse ??
3-1 win
11-8 top 2 finish
20-80 % stake.
This is poor quality stuff like the rubbish we get at Wolverhampton, Chelmsford etc so split stake here.
If you HAVE to bet today?
If your the highly suggest-able type like most folk say about me and I agree then USA ?? for tonight is very decent for a Monday but just go with these in the following for small stakes.
Trebles (x20 Bets)
4 Folds (x15 Bets)
5 Folds (x6 Bets)
Acca x1
Will Rogers Downs -Race 3…Shaggy Edge @ 6/4 ***
Free to watch shortly before 18:42
18.46 Mahoning Valley -Race 5…Scratchoff 11/10 ****

Race 5..Stability 9/4 **+
Side bet…Combo forecast NO: = 3 -4 -7 *+
GL rest of the day and I think tomorrows racing will be of a better standard in the UK at least, I’ve not checked but there’s some big jumps meeting on I think. ? ?? ??
That’s 42 bets recoba, it needs to be small stakes aye.
If they all win well done though and I’ll be sending you a begging letter ?
