A busy day of racing awaits punters on Friday with 7 meetings on offer throughout the UK and Ireland. Rizzel and I have selected 4 horses for Friday's Lucky 15 tips which you can find below.
Cairnzy's Tips
Great Generation 5/1 – York 2.40
I've decided to take on Unequal Love in this contest with Great Generation, who at 5/1 holds some value to upset the favorite in this open-looking contest. The form of her Lingfield victory in the Group 3 Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes reads quite well. The third placed Sirona has since finished second in a Group 3 and the sixth-placed landed a decent looking listed contest at Chelmsford last week. My selection traveled strongly throughout her recent outing over 7f and this drop to 6f looks a good move by connections in my opinion. The cut in the ground should hold no problems from Great Generation either and everything points to a bold showing on Friday.
The Flying Seagull 2/1 – Chester 6.05
The Flying Seagull, trained by Hugo Palmer, looks a strong contender in this race. He carries a penalty for his recent impressive victory over the same course and distance just two weeks ago but with more improvement expected, I see no reason why The Flying Seagull can't make it two on the bounce. The Andrew Balding trained Brighton Boy looks like the main danger on the back of his runner-up effort at Salisbury. Brighton Boy has only run the two times so far and is also open to further progress.
Rizzel's Tips
Gisburn – Newmarket 4.45
Gisburn has been running over 6f for the majority of his career so far, but every time he runs well it looks like he needs further than 6f. The best part of his race over 6f is the final furlong as he is running on powerfully, and more often than not he gets going too late and appears as an eye-catcher. I think it's the correct decision to send him back over a slightly longer trip as it's an avenue which should be tried due to his running style as it will allow him to hit top stride. He is a horse who handles any ground and is more than capable of winning races off his handicap mark at this level. William Buick takes the rides as Sean Levey has gone to Ascot, and given Buick is mustard around Newmarket, it's a good jockey booking.
Galaxy Princess – Ascot 4.00
Joanna Mason gets her first ever ride for Ralph Beckett, but with this horse carrying a low weight and there being many good meetings on today it's not a huge shock to see not a stable jockey or one Ralph normally goes to taking the ride. Joanna Mason is a great jockey from the North and goes under the radar, so the booking doesn't concern me with Galaxy Princess for her handicap debut. This filly has been given a rating of 79, which isn't an easy task, but you'd like to think by the way she has been running in novice and maiden races that there is much more to come from this daughter of Ribchester. She was second to a stablemate at Salisbury and the form of that particular race looks strong. The winner has since followed up with another win and is now rated 94 and the third-placed horse won on her next start and then as runner-up the time after and is rated 87. This filly has already proven a liking for soft ground based on that Salisbury effort and the way she has been running over 10f, today's step up to 12f looks like the natural route to take now she's entering handicaps.
WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
