FOR the second time in five years Crooked Stick GC, north of Indianapolis, hosts the BMW Championship.
When it was held here in 2012 it was Rory McIlroy who prevailed by two strokes with a 20-under total of 268. The tournament was played after a hurricane ripped through the area and left the course soaking.
It was like target practice then and with rain and thunderstorms predicted for the first three days it could turn out the same as 2012. If it is heavy underfoot length and GIR will be factors.
When Dustin Johnston has a dip in form he certainly does it in style. One off the lead on the 18th in the second round at the Deutsche last week I thought he was going to be co-leader after completion of the round. Wrong!
He managed to double bogey the second easiest hole on the course hen had a 75 in the third round, dropping him well out of the running before finishing off back on song with a 66. On Tour he is in the top three on strokes gained:off the tee, SG:Tee-To-Green, SG:Total and his GIR stat is 67.49 (50th). So after all that I just have to pick him again this week.
My other choice has to be Patrick Reed who is number one in the Fed-Ex rankings. I thought he was returning to form a few weeks back when I mentioned Reed for the Olympics.
Then he won two weeks ago at the The Barclays and followed that up with a T5 at the Deutsche Bank last week. So he is the form man at the moment. He hits a long ball, has a GIR stat of 56.95%, is fifth in SG:Around the Green (.438) and 13th in SG:Total so I’ll be on him here.

Agree with you on Patrick Reed!
Also going to go with Ryan Moore at 50/1. Seems over priced considering he’s had back to back top tens!
Russel Knox also looks over priced at 66/1!
Craig good luck with Scott today he had a good round yesterday and is T5. Hope you had him each way as I think my tip big DJ is going to do the business today.
