Golf Betting Tips from The Caddy

The DPWT returns after another short break with the Singapore Classic on The Classic Course, Laguna National Golf Resort, Singapore.

The 132 field with the top 65 including ties making the weekend will all be competing for a share of the $2.5M prize purse with the winner collecting the Singapore Classic title & a cheque for $416,750.

It was almost a full house on The Caddy’s Telegram Channel at The Players Championship last weekend. Scottie Scheffler is simply out of this world, tipped at 11/2 while Hideki Matsuyama returned some EW profit at 30/1.

Martin Laird won the Top Scotsman bet at Evens while Alex Noren comfortably finished inside the Top 40 tipped at 11/8.

With this being the time of the golfing season that The Caddy has made thousands & thousands profit over the past few years then now’s the time to join us all on Telegram.

Let’s bash the bookies together while having some fun watching golf.

The Classic Course at Laguna National Golf Resort will be playing 7,240 yards this week, it’s a par 72 Parkland lay out that will definitely require some attention to detail, accuracy & precision along with a hot putter will be the key to success at Laguna.

Ockie Strydrum returns to defend his Singapore Classic crown. His winning scorecard from last year read 269, -19.

The weather forecasts sunny & humid conditions with cloudy intervals throughout. Breezes will peak at around 12mph.

This event will be screened on Sky Sports Golf & Sky Sports Main Event for those in the UK with live coverage staring at 6am on Thursday.

So let’s move on with this weeks betting selections for the Singapore Classic.

Shane Lowry 17/2 EW

For my first & main pick I’m going to advise Shane Lowry 17/2 EW Boylesports 1-8 places. Surely Shane has the potential too finish inside the places this week if not bagging the W.

The Irishman finished inside the Top 20 (T19th) at TPC Sawgrass last weekend & had two Top 5 efforts before The Players Championship.

3rd at The Arnold Palmer Invitational can be backed up with T4th at the Cognizant Classic.

Lowry arrives at Laguna ranked 3rd on the PGA Tour for Approach the Green, 4th SG Tee to Green, 6th Scoring Average, 7th Driving Distance & 1st for Longest Hole Outs.

Now without being disrespectful, the Irishman won’t be looking around for the likes of Rory or Scottie this week & in this much weaker line up Shane Lowry WILL show his class on the Classic Course.

Matthieu Pavon 14/1 EW

For my next best tip for the Singapore Classic I’m going to point you all in the direction of Matthieu Pavon 14/1 EW Boylesports 1-8 places. Is Matthieu Pavon spiralling into an unknown golfing hemisphere? , well all the signs are that he seems to be doing just that.

Since jumping over onto the PGA Tour just a matter of months ago the Frenchman has risen to 27th in the world rankings & has already claimed his maiden PGA title when scooping the Farmers Insurance Open only a few weeks back.

The talented Frenchman also finished 3rd at Pebble Beach & 7th at the Sony Open in Hawaii, all this year.

This is only the 2nd edition of the Singapore Classic on the DPWT & last year Pavon finished just a few shots off the pace in T6th at this venue. He arrives in Singapore playing the best golf of his career & can make the jump back over from the PGA Tour to the DPWT with another W this weekend.

Zander Lombard 28/1 EW

For my final DP World Tour selection this week I’m going to single out another who’s been looking good for a W anytime soon, Zander Lombard 28/1 EW Boylesports 1-8 places.

The South African started his 2024 campaign with half a dozen Top 20’s on the trot with half of those being inside the Top 10, that’s consistency folks. One of those amazing efforts was joint runner up at the Bahrain Championship with T6th at the Dubai Invitational also worth a mention.

Last year around the Classic Course Zander Lombard finished T6th & I’ve got a feeling that it could be this weekend when the South African finally wins that elusive DPWT maiden title.

It’s actually still hard to believe that Zander still hasn’t won on the DPWT .

Look out for Lombard at Laguna.
