“WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WINNNING IN L.A”
The brand ‘3-Slice' has been ditched due to a multi million pound investment from the pig farmers association CHODDYSLICE and pastures new we look to get off with a bang at Pebble beach.
The headline may get a few people thinking, but for those that are unsure in the year 2000 BRAN van 3000 had a superb hit with drinking in LA and this week BRANDT SNEDEKER 2019 looks the way to go in what is set to be a tough renewal of the US Open from Pebble Beach, California.
The course itself is set up for the old fashioned fairway and green finder and doesn't tend to lend itself to the bombers off the tee which may just rule Brooks the Beast out (if you dare).
Recent weeks have seen me induce in a herbal medicine diet and I must say after the first few days of me feeling ill I now feel I'm fighting fit. If anybody wants the secret DM me.
So we're backing four this week and all with good reason:
Brandt Snedeker 55/1
Brandt is back and his putting is better than ever. Already a major winner, a superb 60 last week in round 2 at the Canadian Open, agreat US Open record and a strong case can be made for blondie himself to challenge for the title .
Matt Kuchar 40/1
Sometimes you run out of superlatives for a man like Kuch; top of the Money List, so consistent, finding fairways and greens for fun, generating negative publicity has only strengthend his play. The man who is just as good at tennis as golf will surely be up there Sunday.
Matt Wallace 80/1
The English version of Psycho Sid looked calm and reasurred in the PGA and he's a major player with a winning mentality. He seems to contend everytime he comes out and if he gets the mix just right this week he's got half a chance .
Kevin Na 125/1
Who didn't enjoy Kevin Na winning at the Charles Schwab and giving his caddy that car? Kev was at his imperious best that week and his putting was phenomenal. He's not played since, and coming to Pebble, which is a course that will suit, can only be a positive for the Na.
Time difference may be an issue for TV viewers this week as the 7-hour time difference is brutal with the late nights. Expect the early wave of featured groups to go off around 1500 on Thursday (0800 California time) . The weather looks set to be cooler than normal with highs of 20 degrees over the 4 days, minimal wind forecast so it's, ‘May the best man win'.
I'll be doing my best impression of Jess Glynne's new record with Jax Jones one touch; great song, have a great week whatever you decide upon.
Shout out to Sam Smith, get well soon X
