IT'S top v bottom in the German Second tier tonight as league leaders Bielefeld can seal their promotion to the top tier with a win against basement side Dynamo Dresden.
Defeat is not an option for the visitors who sit 6 points from safety with 4 games to play and having played one fewer match, three points would go a long way to preserving their status in the league.
30 points may separate the sides but with this behind closed doors and Bielefeld being less than convincing since their return, it will give Dresden hope of getting a positive result.
I've enjoyed some great success during the last few months on the corners markets, and in Germany over the last few weeks and there's a corners bet I like the look of tonight.
Arminia Bielefeld vs Dynamo Dresden (KO 7.3opm)
Closed doors football has certainly benefited the away sides in Germanys' top tier with a remarkably high % of away wins since the return ,and whilst there doesn't appear to be any significant changes in 2. Bundesliga, I'm fairly certain Dresden will be much happier at the prospect of playing league leaders Bielefeld in an empty stadium.
Bielefled are on the brink of promotion and they'll be playing in the top flight next season but since returning they've hardly set the heather alight.
Yes, they are unbeaten in 5 but they've picked up 4 draws, two of which came against struggling Nurnburg and Osnabruck and that certainly bodes well for a Dresden side who must get something from this match.
The bookies often provide very generous prices on the team corner markets and I think they are doing so again here when it comes to Dresden. there are couple of key factors to consider:
- This is Dresden's biggest game of the season – they need three points here and will have to have a go
- Bielefeld have not be convincing since returning and have struggled against other sides toiling at the bottom
- No home fans has to be an advantage to Dresden, especially with the home side on the cusp of promotion
- Bielefeld have conceded 5+ corners in each of their 5 matches since returning (6/5/5/5/9)
Dresden are far from convincing when it comes to corners (they have the lowest away avg in the league with 2.93) but based on the above, it's not outwith the realms of possibility they could hit 4+ at big odds and I'm happy to take it on.
Recommended bet:
- Dynamo Dresden 4+ team corners
- 7/5 (NAP) (Betway)
Dresden Over 1 Corner in each half is 18/5 at Hills, worth a nibble I reckon.
Good luck
Gutted yesterday Greg, Brest corners, 1 shy for a 5 fold and Bate corners 2 shy for a good treble, thought it was “home and hosed with only corners needed in the last 34 minutes plus injury time, but still a good profit from the gambla podcast.
Yeah really frustrating – the Rukh Brest one sails in if they don’t get a man sent off
Great pick again Greg!! ?
Yes well done Greg and others who were on. I am finding this strategy of sniffing around the lower and more obscure leagues much more enjoyable then playing the usual premiership, La Liga markets.
The lower down you go the more of an edge you have over the the bookies ??
