FRANCE were favourites for Olympic gold before a ball was kicked this summer in the men's tournament and take on Spain tonight in what should be a thrilling final.
The Spanish are looking to make amends for a painful end to the Tokyo Games where they had to settle for silver after losing to Brazil in the showpiece.
But they will have to defeat the hosts in front of a partisan crowd and France boast the most fearsome attack at the Olympics.
Theirry Henry used two of his overage slots to bring in Jean-Philippe Mateta and Alexandre Lacazette, with both players playing key roles in the run to the final along with Bayern Munich new boy Michael Olise.
