Following on from last night’s winner in Ireland, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Scottish Cup final, and I’ve come up with a goals-based selection involving one of these sides.

For the first time in 22 years, Old Firm rivals Rangers and Celtic meet at Hampden in the Scottish Cup final and (unfortunately for me) I fancy the newly-crowned Premiership champions to strike at least twice.
Both these sides ended the season in contrasting form, with Brendan Rodgers’ men having sealed the Premiership crown by winning eight and drawing one of their final nine matches (W8-D1-L0), whilst Phillipe Clement’s bears finished their league campaign by winning just four of their final 10 Scottish Premiership contests (W4-D3-L3), with three of those victories coming at Ibrox.
Not only do Celtic come into this final with the momentum, but they have a mental advantage after having dominated this fixture over the past couple of seasons. Since Rangers’ 1-2 victory in the Scottish Cup semi-final in the 21/22 season, The Hoops have since gone on to win seven and lose just one of the next 11 (W7-D3-L1) meetings with their Old Firm rivals, with only a stoppage-time Rabbi Matondo equaliser in their Ibrox meeting at the beginning of last month preventing Celtic from making it 4/4 this campaign.

Celtic were the leading scorers in the Scottish Premiership, banging in 95 goals across their 38 matches, with 37 (39%) of them coming across their final 12. Overall, The Hoops have scored two or more goals in 13 of their previous 14 league and cup encounters – even scoring three or more in 11 (79%) of them – and I’m backing them to bag another double against a Gers defence that has recorded a solitary shutout across their previous 10 Premiership matches, shipping multiple goals in six (60%) of them, as well as in each of their last three meetings with their Old Firm rivals.
