Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the English Championship and the Norwegian Eliteserien. I’ve picked a selection from each league which I like the look of to give us a nice odds against double.

Fulham vs Barnsley

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Championship

⏰ Saturday 20th November, 15:00

Two sides at opposite ends of the table meet at Craven Cottage as Fulham host Barnsley. The hosts are currently in second spot but can go top at least temporarily with a win. The visitors are second from bottom, winning only 11 points from their first 17 matches.

Aleksandar Mitrović’s 74th minute winner away to Peterborough last time out made it six successive wins for Fulham in the Championship. Fulham have scored 19 goals in those six victories, scoring on multiple occasions in five of them. Fulham have been strong at Craven Cottage this season, winning six of their eight matches there, including each of their last four, scoring 12 times. Fulham have scored 2+ in 11 of their 12 wins in the Championship so far this season.

Barnsley failed to build on their win over Derby as they lost 0-2 at home to fellow struggles Hull City last time out. That now means Barnsley have lost eight of their last nine Championship fixtures, conceding 16 goals in the process. Barnsley remain the only side in the Championship yet to win on their travels, losing 5/8. That includes them losing five of their last six, failing to score in four of them.

Viking vs Haugesund

🇳🇴 Eliteserien

⏰ Saturday 20th November, 17:00

European chasing Viking host Haugesund at the SR-Bank Arena in the Eliteserien on Saturday. The men from Stavanger currently occupy the final European spot in 3rd, four points above Rosenborg. Haugesund are positioned in 10th and have nothing but pride to play for.

Viking scored a stoppage time winner to secure a vital victory over Mjøndalen last time out to go four points clear of Rosenborg. That win last time out made it five wins from their last six Eliteserien matches. Viking have only failed to score three times all season and only once at home. Viking are the fourth highest scorers in the Eliteserien, scoring 51 goals, with 30 of them coming at home. Viking have scored on multiple occasions in nine of their 13 home matches this season.

Haugesund scored a 90th minute equaliser over league leaders Bodø/Glimt last time out to draw 2-2. Despite that impressive draw, Haugesund have only won one of their last eight matches and that came against bottom side Mjøndalen. No side has collected fewer points on their travels than Haugesund, with them collecting six points, winning just once. Haugesund have conceded 27 goals away from home this season, conceding on multiple occasions in nine of them, including in six of their last seven.

Bet of the Day

Two sides in contrasting form meet at Craven Cottage in what should be a routine home win. Fulham have been in great form winning each of their last six Championship matches, scoring 19 goals and also have the added incentive of knowing a win will take them top of the league for 24 hours at least. Barnsley on the other hand have lost eight of their last nine matches and I can’t see them getting anything here. Back Fulham to win and to score at least twice in what should be a comfortable victory. Viking are edging closer to European qualification and will view Haugesund as ideal opponents. Haugesund have the worst away record in the Eliteserien, collecting just six points on their travels, winning just once. They’ve won just once in their last eight and face a Viking side who’ve won five of their last six. Viking have scored on multiple occasions in nine of their 13 home matches and I’m backing them to score at least twice against poor travellers Haugesund.

  • Fulham to win & over 1.5 goals
  • Viking to score 2+
  • Double Pays 43/40 (Bet Victor)
