Lazio face a tough trip to the Arctic Circle as they take on Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt at the Aspmyra on Thursday night in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Kjetil Knutsen’s hosts have scored 38 goals across their 18 matches in European competition this season, with an impressive 27 (71%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Yellow Horde have found the back of the net in all nine (100%) of their European fixtures on home soil this term – notching 2+ goals in eight (89%) of them – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring record at home against a Lazio defence that’s without a clean sheet in each of their previous five Europa League matches and just two in their past nine.
Marco Baroni’s visitors have scored 20 goals across their opening 10 Europa League clashes this campaign, with 10 (50%) of them coming on their travels.
The Biancocelesti have failed to score in just two of their Europa League encounters this term, notching 2+ goals in seven (70%) of them – including in 4/5 (80%) away from home – and will look to breach a Bodo backline that’s kept just two clean sheets across their previous 15 European contests.

Those numbers rise significantly when playing on home soil, with their nine European contests at The Aspmyra Stadion averaging a whopping 4.11 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in all nine (100%) of them.
Lazio’s opening 10 Europa League encounters have averaged 2.70 goals per game – with Over 2.5 Goals landing in six (60%) of them – and I’m happy to back a high-scoring clash in the Arctic Circle on Thursday night.
