After making it three successive winners late on in Norway on Thursday night, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the French Ligue 1, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two clubs separated by just two points in the Ligue 1 table meet at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Saturday afternoon as fifth-placed Lille entertain fourth-placed Monaco in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Bruno Genesio’s hosts have scored 36 goals across their opening 22 Ligue 1 contests this term, with 21 (58%) of those coming on home soil.
Les Dogues have found the back of the net in each of their opening 11 Ligue 1 encounters at home – notching on multiple occasions in six (55%) of them – and will look to continue their goal-scoring record at home against a Monaco defence that has kept just three clean sheets across their previous 18 Ligue 1 outings, shipping 2+ goals in six of their last seven.
Adi Hutter’s visitors are the joint third-highest scorers in Ligue 1, slamming in 44 goals across their opening 22 matches, with 16 (36%) of them coming across their 10 road trips.
Les Monegasques have failed to score in just three of their Ligue 1 dates, notching on multiple occasions in 13 (59%) of them – including in eight of their last 12 – and will look to continue their impressive run of form in front of goal against a Lille backline that has kept just one clean sheet across their past 10 Ligue 1 encounters in front of their supporters.

Lille’s opening 11 Ligue 1 contests in front of their supporters this campaign have averaged 3.18 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in nine of their last 10, whilst seven (70%) of them in that 10-game sample have seen three or more goals.
Monaco’s opening 10 Ligue 1 encounters on the road this season have averaged three goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals landing in seven of their last eight.
In fact, Monaco’s matches in Ligue 1 over the past three months have gone goal-crazy, with their past 12 matches averaging a whopping 4.25 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals paying out in 10 (83%) of those – including each of their previous seven – and I’m expecting the goals to flow in Northern France on Saturday.
