Monday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Scottish Championship, and there’s one fixture in particular that stands out to me for goals.

⚽️ Queen’s Park vs Partick Thistle

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Championship

⏰ Monday 2nd January, 15:00

Two clubs separated by only two points and two placed in the Scottish Championship table meet at Ochilview Park tomorrow afternoon as Queen’s Park host Partick Thistle in a match that promises goals.

Queen’s Park recorded their fourth successive victory last time out as they thrashed Arbroath 1-4 away from home, leaving them in second position, just one point behind league leaders Dundee. Owen Coyle’s men have found the back of the net in all nine of their home fixtures this season, scoring 18 times. The Spiders have registered just four clean sheets in the league this season, conceding on 27 occasions.

Partick Thistle made it three wins from their last four matches in the Championship as they thrashed Inverness CT 5-1 to go within four points of table-toppers Dundee. lan McCall’s men have found the back of the net in 16/19 of their league matches this season and are the division’s highest scorers, scoring an eye-catching 40 goals. However, The Jags have the second leakiest defence in the Championship and have registered just two shutouts, with both coming against the lowest-scoring side in the league, Arbroath.

Bet of the Day

Queen’s Park and Partick Thistle head into this encounter in great form, with The Spiders having won each of their previous four, whilst Ian McCall’s have collected 10 points from the last 12 available. The pair have banged in a total of 76 goals between them this season and I fully expect the two to get on the scoresheet here.

Collectively, Over 2.5 goals has landed in 28/37 (76%) of the pair’s Championship fixtures this season, and given either team's records at both ends of the pitch, I reckon we’ll see at least three strikes with both getting on the scoresheet.
